Beating up your Aero -- advice sought

Very creative ideas, fellas, thanks. I like the twine and soccer idea. Only I don't play soccer. And, wow, yeah, the Selkirk's pretty nice. Sir J

Beating up your Aero -- advice sought

I completely agree. I would never buy an artificially distressed jacket. But I don't think jumping up and down on one is the same thing. Sir J

Beating up your Aero -- advice sought

Thanks for the advice. Don't worry I wouldn't really go anywhere near my Aero with any conditioner. Just interested in people's techniques for wearing it in a little before its time. Slightly worried, though, about the arms on my Stockman. I asked for them to be narrowed and raised a little but...

Beating up your Aero -- advice sought

Loungers, I have, partly by accident, just acquired two new Aeros - a black Stockman and a customised oilpull M422A (pictures to follow). And when I say new, I mean new. They are squeaky stiff. Only now, 15 years or so after buying my first Aero, has it occurred to me that I needn't wait years...

HELP! Question about Aero 30s Halfbelt/Highwayman

Rudie, I just got a 30s HB and it's probably the Aero I'm most happy to have owned. If you're 186cm, you're a little bit taller than me: I would go for a size 40 with, at most, an extra inch on the length. My advice would be to ask what the eventual front length will be and use that as a guide...

To patch-pocket or not to patch-pocket?

Thanks, Davy. Interesting idea. Would love to see how it turns out. Sir J

To patch-pocket or not to patch-pocket?

Loungers, I know there are more important things going on in the world but I'm a bit torn over the pockets in my upcoming Stockman order. I'm not sure whether to retain the patch pockets or have Cheyenne-style cargo pockets put in instead. Would welcome any thoughts on the stylishness or...

    Aero lining for (London) winter?

Loungers, I am contemplating ordering an Aero Stockman for wearing in the London winter. The jacket is lined all over with Alpaca wool as standard, and I'm wondering whether people think this would be too warm. As it happens, I bumped into a couple of very friendly fellow Aero fans on the...

    Size 38 Aero cordovan Stuart

Just to let you know, Stuart fans, that I have relisted this jacket on ebay at a lower price.

Thanks for the commiserations, guys. Yes, I agree the Stuart is very beautiful but sometimes we must part with even beautiful things. Sir J

    Size 38 Aero cordovan Stuart

I'm not sure why that is, Horsehide. I find ebay very un-user-friendly. Do advise if you can but, yes, I'll post it to Kazakhstan if there's a buyer there. Sir J

    Size 38 Aero cordovan Stuart

Rudie, good point. Horsehide, yes (and now you have a new word for your vocabulary). And I am a size 40 suit jacket. Sir J

    Size 38 Aero cordovan Stuart

A rare opportunity to buy a stylish 'Stuart' model from the maker of 'the world's best leather jackets', Aero Leather Clothing (Aeroleatherclothing.com) of Scotland. The jacket is an interesting buttoned variation on Aero's classic halfbelt jacket, of which Aero says the following: From the...

Sadly, I am now selling this jacket because I feel the need to rationalise my Aero collection. Here it is on ebay, if you are interested: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280722070242 Sir J

Aero Gabardine lining - is this option still available ?

Aero is out of green gabardine, largely I think due to the "JanSolo-rush effect". All they have left is a very bright red gabardine, which sounds of limited sitability. Sir J

In pictures: the Aero 50s halfbelt (take 3)

Thanks, guys. Yes, that garden is in London! Not actually mine but a friend's. Well, now I'm itching to get another Aero, a lighter version that I can wear in the warmer months. (I've barely been able to wear that hb since I finally received it -- too hot.) I really find that the trimmer fits...
