But that is a great question......I wondered when that beaver and rectangle first came out too........and for that matter...when was the first 3X designation for a Stetson hat?
For my part I am still looking at my stuff for...
I think of you every time I see one now (which is not all that often)! I have (will have) two now.....ONE which will fit. The other is really nice with a unique ribbon. It does not fit (too small):( but I cannot seem to part with it......:rolleyes: you can bet if I run into one that is too...
As an update, I have since found (and was alerted by a couple of fellow loungers) that both the box and hat are from the 1950's and hence are earlier than I suspected.
The hat indeed is really nice felt.....great soft hand.

I too am looking for the light grey. They were one of the first produced and apparently in limited numbers.....I have five altogether, one of each color (except the Lt. grey) with an extra one in the tawny that I got at the outlet for a "price I could not refuse".:rolleyes:;)

And Stetson had a whole series in the 1940's and 1950's about what clothes to wear with your new Stetson...

From Miller-Stockman 1969......none of my earlier catalogs has these....but then I do not have all the 60's catalogs.....
