I am guessing this is a mid 50's no.1, blocking tags are missing.......
This was sold/used by Blackberry Farms in California.....I snapped it up thinking an Illinois conection, but our park did not open until 1969......
It is a size 7:( but it is too cool to let go of. 3 3/4 crown as bashed, 4...
My wife says that old wives tales indicate 6 toed cats are smarter.....so you better watch out.....or he will end up an inside cat like our "adopted" stray...;)

Yes, I really like these Chesterfield ads.....Lucky Strike put out some good ones too (not fine women but lots of hats).

The "Excellent" are beaver. Stetson is just inconsistent with putting it on the sweat. The liners have never indicated anything but "Excellent". I have some and not all have beaver labeling on the sweat, BUT, ALL are beaver and such was indicated on the inside label, their box, or the catalog...

Interestingly, the "Hat Life" manual of 1944 said this about hair color, completion, and clothes regarding the matching of hat colors.......
But, like everyone has said, wear what YOU feel comfortable in.
