Here are two of my latest. A VERY dark Green-Grey Huckle sort of Playboy Clone and a nice Dark Peters Western. Both very much darker than they photograph. I really do not understand why these dark colors photograph so much lighter.....
M;)
Yes, they are growing on me too....they DO draw attention when you take off your hat! I have five now (that I can remember:rolleyes:), this Peters, 2 Bradfords, and the 2 Auctioneers. The first three being westerns and the last two OR clones.
M
PS Sweet Thoroughbred you have there...I have yet...
I did not know that it was. Men's trousers have had watch pockets since there modern design for the last 200 years........MANY of my modern suit pants also have a watch pocket. The ONLY pants pocket I have ever heard referred to as a change pocket is the one attached to the lower INSIDE right...
Ok....here is a really (almost mint, apears quite litte if EVER worn) sweet chocolate brown Stetson St Regis from the mid 60's. Fits perfect, sweat is perfect, liner is perfect, the felt...well you know....is perfect;)!!
M:)
PS YES Brent, it IS that one......I kept looking at the listing...
Here is a new one to me......a Trail Blazer....styled by Peters, Tyler, Texas. Originally sold by The Corral, Tyler, Texas. Awsome dark olive green (od) in a nice felt only slightly "western stiff". A 3 1/8 inch brim, about 5 5/8 crown (4 3/8 fron as creased). Do not know much about this one...
Now I am confused too:eek::rolleyes:...........Who knows.......the one I posted is a current production hemp OR, someone else just bought a 10x Stetson straw OR that I thought had the brim binding as well. Then again this is not a Stetson thread, just hats like the classic OR.......hence thin...
:):):):):):):):):):)
BUT then, NOWADAYS she may be scared......thinking you are about to put the hat over her face..:eek::eek::eek::eek::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:;););)
M:):)
You and me both.....I will be looking for one now...Bob has a REALLY awesome hat there, and he did a nice job cleaning that one up...and you are right on with the bow having the size...really interesting feature.
M
I know it is a nice hat of a style you really like, but, it is NOT an Open road Clone. It has NO ribbon binding for one thing....Different ribbon style entirely....Straw (or hemp) have the same features as the felt.
Here is a hemp Open Road:
M;)
So does this mean it was originally sold in Germany as i Suspect?
Also what does Artikel-Bez mean?
Thanks for all your info....,,,you guys are great!
M:)
I cannot get a better picture of the paper label, it expands fine on my tablet, so It has Huckle Hermes 52 60 and Artikel-Bez
Sweat has Feinster Haarfilz next to the logo on one side.
Retailer appears to be A. Breiler Muncher Hathouse ( in German) and an address? 1863
Everything is in...
Another nice set of comparisons!!! You make an interesting observation regarding the size of the American hats. This is something I have noticed too, on American vs European hats, that at any given point in time it seems the American hats just have a great deal more presence....this is true for...
WOW, that is really nice.....really nice indeed...and a no worries new sweat to boot...I hope he see the advantage of this hat deal........I sure do!!;)
