    The Middy Thread

The Middy is by no means a scientific formula! There are many variations, depending on the lady. Thanks Helysoune for the great pictures! Amy Jeanne - In theory, it should be a mullet ;) I'll get some pictures tonight of my unstyled Middy. 23SkidooWithYou - Bette most definitely has a Middy...

Playing Christmas music off my iPod today: Kay Starr's The Man With the Bag came on, and I noticed in her album picture, she's (gasp ) not wearing red lipstick! Theres that purple again. She looks great!

    The Middy Thread

There was a suggestion in the Vintage Haircut thread about starting a thread dedicated entirely to the Middy haircut - How it is cut, styled, etc. The Middy was the most popular haircut in the 1940's. The top and sides were kept shorter than the back hair for easy styling of rolls and bangs...

Advice on choosing a vintage style or decade.

Same here - Platinum blonde may be alright, but darker reds and rich browns do so much more for you.

    Dog help?

Darhling's pug is toooo cute <3 Forget Schnauzers, they require tons of grooming or else they stink! How about a Cavalier? They're small, friendly, only require brushing once a week, minimal shedding, and are adorable! They'll get along with your teacup poodle too.

Advice on choosing a vintage style or decade.

I definitely like 1920's on you! I think I posted somewhere before how well that decade suits you lol Speaking of suits, 1950's D looks smashing on you aswell, and I kind of like the 1960's! I avoid short skirts 'cause my knees aren't so great - most ladies here do, I believe. The tights...

Video games based in the golden era

It's one of my fiancé's favourite games. Its very different from Modern Warfare for sure. The intros and storylines are quite cool - It's also neat how you can play the Russians and the Americans. They include a lot of famous historical scenes.

    Handsome Fellas!

Oh no Hadley - Not Robert Mitchum again! lol Some ladies like rugged, sweaty guys, eh? ;) I've always been a clean-cut kind of gal. All the gents I've posted - Rall, Fonda, Granger - Are impeccable!

"Here's looking at you, kid" and what might get you slapped

I can see what you mean! lol (Not all men are uncouth though, especially not the Lounge gents.) People have always called my brother and I by our last names. It doesn't matter if they are young, old, male or female. It turned into a nickname which stuck. I don't particularly like when...

    Handsome Fellas!

Yucky! I can see how there might be rugged appeal, but I for one prefer clean, healthy and untanned. Sweat is not fun. I'm having a serious crush on Farley Granger these days - He's still alive too! Maybe I'll write to him and see if he will send me a picture <3 Too bad for me...

    Nothing but Seamed Stockings

Really? I'll have to check my Wally World! Speaking of seams being hard to find... (not that we were speaking of it ;)) I had a thought the other day while watching a wartime documentary: We all know shortages in the UK made stockings impossible to get, so ladies used cold tea on their...

Ladies, What kind of vintage car would you love to cruise in?

The "Loner" in the Mask that fell apart on the bridge was a Studebaker lol That scene makes me giggle uncontrollably.
