    Suitable Short Hair-Do for a 12yo Girl...

I had this exact cut, practically, when I was 12. I have thick stick straight hair, and tangles were a huge problem. When I was very young I wore a China doll bob, and as I grew older, this cut meant maturity :)

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

So do I  Holey shirts seem to be rotting to me. People never cease to amaze me. I had brunch at the Royal York one Sunday with my snooty cousin, and I saw a woman wearing a muumuu.

    My Mother Says...

Mojito, you and your mum look lovely! Miss Sis, your mum is very pretty too. :) I'd love to be able to share that with my mum. She dresses like a potato sack all the time, so I doubt I'll ever be able to. How ironic is it that when she wants to look nice, she comes to me for her hair...

    My Mother Says...

Thanks so much RebeccaDoll, Lindabelle and Lillemor - You ladies are sweet! <3 My mum will get an idea into her head - in this case, no one will hire me - and give her opinion as though I've asked for it. Then she can't understand why I wouldn't listen to her. ...Although I did get to rub it...

    Start them young.

I think that would be a fun experience! I would have done it too - It would be just like 1900 house :)

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

Today at the mall, I was having coffee and this mother and her baby girl were sitting at the table next to me. The baby looked at me (with that red face they get when they're fussy), and I pouted back at her. The baby smiled - I made a few faces, and she started laughing. That made me laugh...

    My Mother Says...

Bump! If I hadn't started this thread before, I sure would be now. 95% of the time I can laugh about my mother's comments, but honestly, she can really get me down. Shes over right now having tea. I have my job interview today (that I posted in the other thread about) and I invited her...

    The Golden Era's *ugliest* clothes

Oh dear. I'd rather wear a Chinese foot bind than wear those. They are painful to see, and I imagine, wear.

    Women in Uniform

That's what I always joke my sweetie about - Before he puts on his boots, he looks like he's wearing PJ's lol

    1960's Makeup and Hair

Mimeux is lovely! I always thought she could be Charlotte Rampling's cousin. Rampling was a sixties stunner too: Her hair and outfits in Georgy Girl make me swoon!

How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World

Oh dear! Lifebuoy made little Ralphie go blind in A Christmas Story... I wonder what Fels-Naptha would do! Back on topic, Amazon.ca recommended The Gospel According to Coco Chanel to me when I looked up our book in question. I definitely want to buy this!

    Nothing but Seamed Stockings

I don't like the modern size charts with their A B and C sizes... It makes me feel as if I'm being graded lol

    What would she ask for?

If she were in the British Commonwealth at the time and had an American beau, I'm sure the top item would be stockings ;)

What is your favorite retro look on a handsome man?

No one is ruling out men, or judging male lounge members based on physical attributes. This thread is about the look (clothing, facial expressions and hairstyles), not the specific man. Many of us showed our sweeties, and if they happen to be classically handsome, then so be it! They are...

    Women in Uniform

I hope I haven't offended! :( I believe it has a lot to do with the boys - These days, female soldiers aren't treated any differently than male ones, and we know that girls are typically smaller than the boys. To prove that they aren't "little girly girls" (as I've heard them be called...

    Women in Uniform

I know Viola was in the military, and Daisy Buchanan was deployed a while ago. She hasn't been active on here since, I don't believe. The military chicks I know, through my sweetie (who is a soldier), are all very butch and rather masculine. This is not to say that all of them are like that...

The Job Interview- how vintage can you go?

Ooh, North Bay is so lovely. I would love to live there... I'm actually at Sheridan College. U of T isn't doing so well lately on account of their charging people too much! I think you already have the right idea - Smart suit and clean cut look. Do you have any skirt suits? Wearing one of...

    The Golden Era's *ugliest* clothes

Of course, it's all about promoting popularity. Calculated or not, it's working. It would not be my wish to become a pop star, nor would I be excited to meet one, but you can't deny she's successful (in whatever shes trying to do.)

Congratulations Doll! :eusa_clap I think people have forgotten how to be situation appropriate. Which university? :)
