    The Golden Era's *ugliest* clothes

I don't think shes trying to be "cute" or attractive. She's trying to shock, and get reactions from people. She's doing a good job ;)

    1960's Makeup and Hair

Those are quite amazing. I love false eyelashes, they're such fun! Gee, Natalie Wood was pretty... (I bet you were plenty jealous of her in Splendour in the Grass, eh Cherry lips? :p)

hehe lol That's what I was thinking! Mine said he would shoot me if I wore those... I told him I'd probably shoot myself  Lady Gaga has her own style, thats for sure. I quite enjoy seeing her outfits, and wondering how she puts them together. I admire her for her creativity.

The Job Interview- how vintage can you go?

Darhling, I think you always look nice :) Thank you ladies for the good wishes. Tonight, I will go over my resumé with a fine toothed comb, press my blouse and set my hair, and knock 'em dead! :)

How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World

Welcome to the Powder Room, a place where the ladies have discussions. Allow me to introduce you to the title of the book, A Hepburn in a Hilton World, which is directed toward women. Both Kate and Audrey were classy women, especially when compared to Paris Hilton - 'nuff said.

    Favorite frizz fighting cream?

If you've got fine hair, a cream you put on dry hair will do nothing but weigh it down. What you need is a lotion you apply to damp hair after washing. The best out there is Sebastian's Potion 9. This works for all hair types and could smooth the fuzz off a peach. It works for my mothers...

How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World

Yes - Modesty and Prudishness are not to be confused. "A prude (Old French) is a person who is described as being concerned with decorum or propriety. They may be perceived as being uncomfortable with sexuality, nudity, alcohol, drug use or mischief." If you play the Sims, you know who Mrs...

    Who are your Role Models?

Ann Sheridan. This lady was beautiful, talented, classy, and didn't take rigmarole from anyone!

That's your initiation ;) There isn't one glamourous lady out there who hasn't done this!

    The Middy Thread

Old ladies all get their hair done the same way - Cropped short, curled horizontally from the forehead to the nape and down the sides with a 2" barrel curling iron, fluffed out, then hairsprayed. It's so routine that I was allowed to do it as an assistant. All the ladies who did their hair...

How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World

Agreed! :eusa_clap Case in point: When Prince Charles and Camilla visited Toronto a few weeks back, they did many things - Presented new colours to the Royal Regiment of Canada, opened the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, and toured Dundurn Castle, to name a few things. What did Christie...

The Job Interview- how vintage can you go?

Not here - Fossil Canada sells primarily watches, with a few bags and the odd t-shirt. The vast majority of the products on the website are only available in the States. Thanks for the good wishes :) Good for you! :eusa_clap I understand the judgment to a point... But if the person is...

How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World

Absolutely! One of my best counterweights was this anonymous quote: "What is right is not always popular; What is popular is not always right." In most cases, what is "right" is a gut feeling. Example: Do I feel "right" hooking up with the entire football team at a wild party because it will...

The Job Interview- how vintage can you go?

You're right. Besides, if my look had really put them off, they wouldn't have called me for an interview, right? I'm going to wear what makes me feel confident, and if that happens to be vintage, so be it :)

    The Middy Thread

You poor dear :( Come to me and I'll cut it for you? I get what you mean, though. Stylists just aren't serving our purpose these days. I wonder... Ladies, if I were to film a tutorial of how to cut your Middy (using my own hair of course) would you be brave enough to try it?

The Job Interview- how vintage can you go?

Bump! There is some great advice in this thread. I'm a college student, and we all know how busy school keeps you. I haven't worked part-time since June, so money has been tight. Now that its tight to the point of strangulation, I have started looking for work. Here's the scam: I have an...

    The Middy Thread

Yeah! I had a variation of this cut when I was a rock chick, albeit longer and choppier lol It's not reminiscent of a mullet at all, fortunately. Yes, my hair is dead straight. Makes it extremely easy for me to cut, but curling can be a pain in the backside. I do like the way you've...
