German & Austrian Hutmachers
Thanks to two friends of the lounge being generous with their finds.....Stefan and Steve.....I now have two more German hats! Seen before here they are again! I brought the Meyser back to a nice shallow flange and gave it a "enhanced" crease....:rolleyes:;) M:):) -
What is your favorite hat crease?
My "new" 50's black Meyser fedora from Stefan all creased up and ready go!! I love the grey ribbon on this one! And of course you always need an interesting crease when possible.....especially on a black hat!;) This one came out with a nice shallow flange brim and looks great just as it is!;)... -

Jack, Yes, this is mine. I thought it was pretty cool. AND in OUR SIZE!!!! Yep, 7 1/2!!!! Very surprising find. It will be my secret campaign hat whenever I go to vote from now on!!! :p:p:p M;) Edit: Yes I was thinking how low the odds to find one, let alone in my size considering only 1800... -

Ok, as a bump to this interesting thread, and as this hat did see some history... I offer this "limited edition" 1984 4X Stetson sold for and worn at the National GOP convention held in Dallas Texas, where President Ronald Regan was nominated for a second term... M;) -

Here is a simply awsome 50's Marathon "Whippet" clone, wonderful felt, 2 1/2 inch brim, 5 3/4 crown, simply sweet felt, AND it appears unworn!!! BUT, it is only a 7:( SO......trade bait..... M;) -

The Dobbs Diner...
Here are two Dobbs additions. One a 50's Game Bird......the other a 20's Derby..... The Game Bird is a 7 1/4 LO (which of course does not fit me) and the other a surprising 7 1/2 which does........ The Game Bird is a great Dark Brown heathered felt (Dobbs called them game mixtures) with a 2 7/16... -

That is a great point, if the hats are all re-blocked on the same block as each other or even a different block than they were originally. They WILL NOT be the same hat.:eek: Even MORE of a travesty as the person doing the conversion will not be getting what they wanted ( unless they don't care...
