I LOVE all my cardigans! And I bought 100% of them in Goodwill. All of them are well-made, slightly vintage, "old lady" cardigans. New cardigans that you get in the mall just always seem too short for me and the fabric is always so cheap -- after one wash I always have an even shorter...
I've heard of it, but haven't seen it. I *have* seen Lyle Talbot and Mary Astor in a 1936 flick called Trapped By Television, though :) I liked it -- the television was so big and bulky!!!!
I was born in '75 so I don't really remember anything pre-1979. But I'd still say the late 60s and early 70s is one of my least-liked time periods of the 20th Century. Don't get me wrong -- that time period has SOME good things about it (exploitation films, architecture, some music -- I find...
The husband bought me these in Target yesterday. He LOVES them. They look good with my rolled-up pedal pusher jeans. I have a husband who likes shopping for my shoes more than I do!! :)
I know this is a really, really looooooong shot here, but is anyone else interested in pre-historic television (1927-1947)?
Also, does anyone know anything about a particular television series that ran on CBS from 1931 to 1933 called "The Television Ghost"...
My grandmother's piano from the 20s and all her sheet music!! When my mother decided to "update" our house into that horrible 1980s "country" style, she got rid of that gorgeous piano and trashed all the sheet music. I was too young to stop her!!
That same grandmother died a few...
You already mentioned mine!
Being a huge movie fan, I LOVE Photoplay! My collection of movie magazines spans 1912 to 1961 -- the bulk of my collection being Photoplay from 1926-1933 (also roughly my favourite era for movies!)
I have other vintage movie publications such as Motion...
I prefer black and white, but I do love very early colour!
To me, black and white is very comforting (as you said.) NOTHING beats watching a black-and-white, obscure, 1930s "women's" movie in the wee hours of the morning! Something about the B&W gives it a dreamy quality and definitely...
Awesome! I love sheet music.
When I was a little girl I remember we had my grandmother's piano from the 20s and there was all kinds of old sheet music in the seat. Unfortunately, my mother doesn't have a vintage bone in her body and got rid of the piano and threw away all the sheet music --...
March 1931
For those interested...
I scanned another one this weekend. This is one of my favourite issues and the cover art is my favourite out of my whole collection. Enjoy...
THE BEST FIGURE IN HOLLYWOOD!!! The runners-up are...
Nope -- my husband and I enjoy them, too! We love and collect as many Something Weird movies as we can. I especially like the really old ones from the 30s and 40s. Many eyebrows have been raised by me while watching them. I sort of expect to see such things in 50s onward exploitation movies...
