You make a good point, and I should make something clear in case it was ambiguous.
When I'm talking about the length seemingly being too long, it's specifically in the context of the taper seeming to be too much for the length. OP, does the jacket feel overly tight around the hem? It's hard to...
Sent that quickly because I thought it urgent.
I'd say stick around here a little while, and in no time we'll be able to find you an all-rounder jacket like that (in a size that fits) whether from a member sale or a deal that's posted.
You have the back length of someone 6'4 for this jacket.
Due to its tapered cut, the Premier Highwayman really does not allow for lengthening it, because then it will just get stuck.
The regular Highwayman can handle this better. Though given the length you want you would have been much better...
One thing I’ve realized is that while on this server we usually highlight the size of these repro Talons (5) as the issue, I’ve noticed that my jacket with a deadstock 50s #5 Talon has no such issue. I think something is just faulty about the repro’s design.
Aero should make the YKK Universal...
Your choice. Given the really weak pound right now, it might not be a bad idea for someone earning in dollars to pay in full now. (I had the opposite experience; paid the deposit during a strong pound, but by the time I paid the remainder it had dropped to its current lows.)
I'm really glad Greg has moved away from the super tight top-stitches; while they obviously require a lot of skill to do, the end result just plain doesn't look as good as a nice substantial seam, which also works to basically add additional lines and detail to the jacket while being much stronger.
Hello neighbor!
I'd go with HPA's recommendation; it's always been spot on for me. Plus their stuff has always reached DC within 24 hours for me, without fail, so you'll have your BR in no time.
The 613SH in 44 would be a good option for you if you want something slightly longer than the 618HH but with the same great leather you have on this jacket. (In 44 it ought to fit similarly to your 689.)
That said, I wouldn't recommend it because your 689 really covers all bases. Forget the...
Him and sometimes Mr Proper. They were born to model leather jackets.
Incidentally, it was the anti-Aero sentiment in this thread that led me to get multiple Aeros out of contrarianism, with happy results, so it's funny to see it back. :D
Incidentally, New York’s (largely Dutch) aristocratic families are sometimes called “New Amsterdam families”. Basically half the locations in downstate New York have Dutch place names (sometimes Anglicized).
He should take this opportunity to rename the Manhattan the Detroit though. :D
That’s the beauty of it! Don’t need sleeves for a bulletproof vest.
Whoever bought yours needs to hang it from the target holder at the range and give it a test.
