Interesting. Especially since after a couple sessions with the Jiffy and a brush all the coarse, ruggy feeling to the nap of the felt is gone, and the hand is now very nice and soft. I no longer think there is any wool involved. The construction overall is quite good. Note the sweatband...
Hey everyone!
I'm trying to figure out who made my recent find, the Paleari Monza Mystery hat. I know I have seen this particular size tag on another hat, but just can't remember where.
The factory sticker is pretty generic.
And FWIW, the union label on the back of the size tag...
Hey all!
This Wilke, also recently arrived from NL, is today's choice. It is a more modern hat, about the same proportions as my '78 Borsalino Torino, so I' m assuming it is of that general time frame.
Have a great day!
This slim-brimmed Berteil recently acquired from Stefan fits well under an umbrella, so it was the choice for a day of unsettled weather.
Have a great day!
Hey all!
The wind, cold and rain can't dampen my spirits on this most green of days. Off to visit the dispensary in the green Monza Mystery by Paleari with it's Italian claims and American looking tags, it seems perfect for the occasion.
Have a great day!
Available now on Etsy for only $239.99 is this beautiful Panama.
Approximately 100 wpsh (weaves per square hat). I don't believe it is a Montecristi, but more of an anti-cristi...

Have a great day!
I spotted this one on Shopgoodwilldotcom and couldn't resist throwing a bid or two it's way. The brand was unfamiliar, but the "Monza" made me think of the Italian town known for it's fine wool. But to complicate things was a size tag with size and "Hand Blocked" written in English...
It...
I'd try putting a rubber band around the block to fill the groove before blocking the hat body and see if that helps to keep your string out of it. Way faster and less permanent than sanding.
Yeah, a bummer for sure. I'm thinking about having one of our hatters here fix it and maybe another hat I have that needs some love. Just have to decide which one.
Found this one thrifting today. Missing the ribbon, and with a crispy sweatband, but I couldn't pass it up.
But the bones were certainly worth saving.
The brim is just short of 2 3/4", the crown about 5 1/2". 100g sans ribbon.
After a little steam and the orange sponge.
I don't...
