Perhaps you should write a book, or turn this into a lecture tour. I'm sure there are quite a few who wouldn't mind some tips along these lines. And even if the situation isn't that dire, it would make for interesting reading.
I was actually going to suggest a '55-'57 Chevrolet for this...
Not too bad a site for identifying cars, but I've always felt the pictures could be a bit bigger.
So tell me more about this antique-car nomad thing, I'm intrigued. Are you or your loved one mechanically inclined so that you can keep an oldie going as you tour our great nation?

I'll second that. I learned the hard way that just because a store sells Rolexes, doesn't mean they can be trusted to perform repairs on more commonplace watches.

Is the Campdraft a lined hat? I'm not sure I've seen that mentioned here. Now that they've got it in Glen Gray, I'm sorely tempted to pick one up. How do the dimensions compare to the Fed IV?

I know I'd prefer to have someone who knows what they're doing take my measurements - and that isn't me! The one thing I've wondered, is your local tailor going to be offended to take your measurements so you can take your business elsewhere? I'm sure he expects to get paid for his time...
Absolutely, it's just like all those kids in the '40s and '50s shooting each other with revolvers in the streets at high noon because of the cowboy shows!

They're just junk '80s sunglasses I got at a thrift store. One nose pad is missing and when I inquired locally nobody could replace it or even had any ideas.
Now there's an idea.

I had a pair of these in high school, but they were cordovan and I had nothing with which to wear them. I think I'll have to find them or a suitable replacement, they're still fairly common in thrift stores around here (unlike decent suits!).
Is there a special trick to polishing all that...
Opinions
I'm soliciting opinions as to how browline glasses work with my facial shape. I think if I went with Shurons, I'd order their Ronsir Revelations rather than the classic Ronsir Zyl because a little less lens height is in fashion at the moment, but this old pair of frames should give an...
Okay, I'll admit it. We used to play Army quite a bit when I was young. In fact, I've got a small arsenal of life-sized WWII small arms made from wood in my garage: M1 Thompson, M1 Carbine, 98k, M1917 machine gun, etc. They came in handy for making a lot of war movies with the camcorder back...
I'm intrigued. Nothing really to add, but I'd like to follow this thread as I really want a summer-weight felt to go with my tan cotton suit. I just feel that felt is more conservative than straw, and more suited to cities north of the Mason-Dixon line.
Still can't justify laying out the...
