Nice jacket Andrew
I've yet to add an A-2 to my collection, still window shopping... Your recent excellent aquisistions are making me think that my wardrobe is very incomplete without one. (Would keep the lovely late war Irvin I bought off you last year good company!)...
Well saved!
I would love to see this old jacket brought back to life! The 'teddy bear' style fleece looks great!
To my very unexperienced eyes it doesn't look to far gone, all the panels are intact? Main problem seems to be rotten stitching...? I'd say in much better condition than mine...
Grandad's Irvin...
This has reminded me of my Grandad's Irvin! He was an Instructor NCO (in the Royal Warwickshire Regt, see avatar) and spent time at airfields in Northern Ireland during the war teaching RAF personnel about the Bren Gun. On one of these postings he managed to buy an Irvin...
Not nessessarilly a rust fan, but definately a 'Patina Junkie'. I just love things that show the passage of time.
I break into a cold sweat when people ask when I'm going to paint my beat up kombi
Le Tour photos - London - Canterbury
After taking in some of the Prologue in London on Saturday, we then parked up on the side of the A26 just outside Tonbridge on Saturday night.
Parking by the side of a busy main road for the night wasn't much fun. As well as...
LeTour
Talking of races, anybody going to watch the Tour when it comes to London and Kent? I'm going to do my best to try and see some of the stage from London to Canterbury, my folks live in Hever which isn't far from the route...
I remember seeing it last time it came to the UK, (1991??)...
I'm going to fly the flag for a little aircraft built less than a mile down the road from me in Woolston, the Supermarine Walrus :eusa_clap
I've always loved old aircraft, but this one has fascinated me since I was a little kid. I ride past where they were built on my way to and...
1930's Watsonian Sidecar...
Not brilliant pics I'm afraid. Taken on a vintage cycle rally in Windsor great Park a few years ago.
I bought it through ebay, but it only happened to be a couple of miles down the road! It needed renovating, I stripped the chassis down and gave it a new...
Nice bike Salv! I hope Halfrauds can get it for you...
I looked it up the cycle to work scheme after reading your thread, can't believe I'd never heard of it before:eusa_doh:
Anyway, back to watching the Giro highlights on Eurosport...
Latest aquisition...
Not very old, but I've been after a pair of traditional cycle shoes for years... Shouldn't look out of place with the plus fours...
Just my saddle bags...
This is a British 1908 ('15) Pattern haversack that has had the back and side buckles removed. I used some straps out of my spares box to fix it to the back of the saddle. If it still had the side buckles I could attach a 08 cross strap and use it as a shoulder bag...
youtube gems...
A couple of real gems for any fellow vintage bike enthusiasts, enjoy...

Newsboy Hat 100% Cotton Gatsby Golf Driving Cap Ivy Khaki 57cm Tan Beige.
Spotted this on ebay, but it's a tad too big for me, I'm a 55 (6 7/8).
Start price was only $10, which is good, but the shipping was steep to send from from the States to the UK - nearly $18, which isn's so good...
not plus fours
Right, read the thread title properly this time, so here's some suit trousers...
I now nothing about this suit, there are no labels inside. Bought in a house clearance/junk shop in Pompey so would assume it's an British suit.
reference shots...
Think those photo's I posted on the British Trouser thread would be better suited here, so....
The 'fours' -
And here are the ones from the grey suit...
High fishtail back, but with less drop, plus twos? I always thought they got their name by...
