I don't collect, but have got some Two Types kicking around, great stuff! Wrong war but also a big fan of Bruce Bairnsfather.
Off topic, but as a kid in the '70's and early '80's I always had my nose in a 'Battle' comic, or a 'Commando' book... In fact I must have a couple of hundred still in...
So a rare beat up old flying jacket... That makes me feel a little bit better lol
One big difference I've noticed between the Pitzker and Brill is the collar size. The Brill is larger and rounded, the Pritzker much smaller with pointed ends...
Is there a G1 thread out there like the...
I think the pictures gave it away...:whistling
But this is a 'MIL-J-7823 (AER)'.... isn't that after the 55J14? I did a quick search on VLJ but couldn't find much on G-1's. Only that the letter after the 7823 helps date it. My 68 Brill Bros is a 'D'.
Is the (AER) on this Pritzker just...
WOW!
Great jacket Ukali! And some excellent close up photography as well, great reference shots! I struggle to get close with our little point and press...
Looks very interesting, cheers for the heads up! I have a few Great War Royal Flying Corps letters I'm in the process of typing out, I'd like to do something similar...
Cheers apipeguy. It's vintage, I'm guessing '30's, but always difficult to pinpoint the age of these caps. Also it had lost it's lining. 'The Utican' stamped in the leather sweatband. I posted a few pics up when I bought it last year, do a search under Utican, you should find them.
That's a great looking vintage cap Thunder! Is the sweatband leather as well?
Material looks cream, but in the close up a very fine herringbone? Very smart!
ukali, I'm catching you up in the beard stakes...
It's scrubbed up very well Andrew! ;) Wasn't there a small rip from where the patch stitching had weakened the leather? How did you fix it?
Oh, and after seeing the ebay listing I think this jacket should be called the 'Ervin' from now on!!
Hi Baron, This is the BSA Irvin. It definately gets the most wear. The leather is still pretty tough and strong, but also it's so heavily patched I'm not paraniod about damaging it...
Cap is a vintage ebay bargain from last year. About $5 or something silly, the postage to the UK was...
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Irvin getting an airing on a Boxing Day run to Wickham Square today.
*edit*
The cab of my Kombi seems to be posessed by some mad little elf person...
Yep, a VW. Posted a while back but here's a recent shot...
Carefully negotiating a hieght restriction barrier! (I don't think my heating is as good as the SAAB... note Irvin...)
The SAAB Combi sounds great! If only I had enough room for more than one...:eusa_doh: In my...

I came across this unusual jacket...
I'm still going through the photo collections on this site...
My guernsey gets worn most days, an old Le Tricotuer in green bought from a charity shop for £2.50! (A good place to buy them, as they usually outlast their owners!)
