I was just last week chatting with Alan over at Johnson Leathers
in SF. He mentioned horsehide, so I asked if he could get Horween.
He said he could, but in very limited quantity. Sounds like it's not
easy for smaller operations to get access to Horween hides. Someone
here (another...
What about dry cleaning? The maker of my older leather jacket
(Johnson Leathers) just recommended that I dry clean my jacket
to get the skin oil out of the collar and other places. I figured I'd
do that and then hit it with some Pecards. Will it damage the leather?
Since this is, at least in part, a response to my post, let me clarify a
few points.
The hat I bought from Michael at Paul's Hat Works was a Biltmore, not
a hat he made himself. So it is possible to say (now that I know better)
that the same hat was available for far less elsewhere...
I also agree with the sentiment and wish there were a hat shop worth
a damn around here.
I wonder how many of us have actually purchased a hat at a brick
and mortar shop? That is, a hat we still like.
I can say I have- I purchased a Biltmore that I got a lot of use out of, from...
Why not call Art or Graham at Optimo and ask them?
They'd know best.
BTW, I believe the name Trionfo was applied to hats of
varying description over the years.
I actually have a moth-eaten (bad ebay listing) Stetson of around
that vintage I have been meaning to post. That's going to have to

Aside from that, I have
that Clear Nutria western

and...
Link worked fine for me. Best effort so far to promote hats
to a younger crowd- good luck to you.
So what do you mean by "Panama straws"?
Straw from the country Panama, straw in the Panama style from the
country Ecuador, or ...
I don't see any wide brim options? Looks like you use...
I don't know about Rand, but there are quite a few
cowboy hat makers with catalogs online. I've always
wanted to order from these guys, former Lounge members:

I've heard good things about this current Lounge member:

This has to be the most surreal post of the week.
Is there an internal error in the Lounge, moving some posts from
one thread to another, or are we looking at an automatically generated
post or what?
Clearly you do not have 4E width feet!
But thanks to all for the comments regarding Wesco, White, and Chippewa.
I'll find some local stores which carry them and check 'em out.
Feraud, I envy you that Disney.
As for Bee hats, since Lefty is apparently dozing:
