The stuff that repels the critters is the oils in the wood.
I use cedar but not touching my hats. Not sure wood shaped into a block band has enough oils to be effective.
I put cedar balls/pouches in hat boxes with lids but make sure they can't touch the hat anywhere.
The one that started it all & it's replacement...
I bought a vintage Stetson off ebay many years before discovering The Lounge.
I wore it hard & put it up wet...it gave me good service & then I took it Shorty's in OKC & had it refurbished.
Then I found this place & learned more & more about...
Blue Smoke on right of picture, Moonstone in the middle, Granite on the left as you look at the photos....
Granite does have brownish undertones where Moonstone has blueish
Indoor light...
Outdoor sunlight...
According to the American Heritage Dictionary, to "whistle dixie" is "(to engage) in unrealistically rosy fantasizing". Usually, it's used in a negative way..."Don't just whistle Dixie", for example, means "Don't sit on your ass wasting time".
Last bump...this is as near a pristine OR clone as they come...if I didn't have a Penney's Marathon so close in color & size, I'd not be selling it...thanks for all the views...
I can get a side-by-side photo up over the weekend...Blue Smoke is a pastel like color to me where Moonstone is an earthy medium grey, one of the most versatile shades out there.
Welcome zenid....looks to fit just right. Not touching the ears & not to high above them, just above the eye brows, not too fare up on the forehead....spot on. JMHO
