Well if you have Cals you're upgrading to Lost Worlds, Colt Government Models you're upgrading to STis, Cimarron SAAs you're upgrading to Colts, let me know.
To be clear, I'm still strongly warning against the plan to get this thing as a 'summer jacket', but the Pinnacle is going to serve your...
The 626 has a tubular fit with a skinny top block; it exists in response to some fashion trends in that direction. Not a jacket I like or that I would buy.
Check out the actual 613 and 618 (or 118 if you prefer soft leather) for a really great pattern and look.
Just to clarify, the KotR will always run warmer than the HWM, regardless of material, because you have much more leather on you, layered and held close to your body.
The HWM with its intentionally boxy fit is probably the closest to a summer wear leather jacket shape that you're going to find.
The same seller is selling some heavy machinery for about the same price lol.
Such a brazen lie too about the jacket not being possible to find anymore; even Eastman with its markup is selling the same jacket for 700 quid.
I wouldn't recommend trying to wear a leather jacket on the basis that you expect it to soak up sweat... This really just that this is a bad idea. I think the King of the Road is an amazing jacket (the Sears Hercules it's based on is probably my favourite D-Pocket motorcycle jacket) and it's a...
The character is meant to look silly and like a kid in costume, to be clear.
The actual leather-jacket wearing main characters are in cool stuff like this vintage Bates.
Irrelevant, really! The point of tailoring is to give you shape that you don't have (that perhaps no one has!) For...
The only underwhelming jacket, and really I think it actually adds to the effect, is the sort of mall Perfecto worn by "Wally" but I wouldn't be surprised if it was deliberate because the whole idea is a gag complete with him trying to write his name on the jacket like The Wild One. So much so...
I love the jacket and own one myself but the "Ramones fit" isn't really a thing. Sleeves just looked shorter on Joey because he was 6'6 wearing regular length jackets. :D
But congrats on the buy! I love those.
Just (another) two cents:
Going with another jacket "with the design of the KotR" will ultimately prove dissatisfying. I know this from experience.
When I ordered my Indian Ranger through Thurston, I didn't know their policy was to simply order a Ridley with the pocket setup of your desired...
Even though the type of leather won't make a huge difference to warmth, unless it's fur, a cross-zip would inherently mean two layers of leather on your chest. Not quite summery!
There are SB fans here but I would not risk it.
Leaving aside the chance of them messing up, at the end of the day you're going to be throwing down 80% of the cost to get a jacket that is not the jacket you wanted. That is the road to regret.
If the 'substitute' jacket were a third of the cost...
I do want to add an addendum, that might make people feel better (without being dishonest).
For all the crap we give the patterning results of asking a factory to make a jacket, there are four-figure Japanese jackets with strong followings on here that have worse shape than any Five Star. The...
