I think these still very much count as work boots; the crepe sole won't grip onto slippery surfaces the way a commando sole will, however it adds to the overall sense of support and shock distribution. It's true that they don't have a reinforced toe cap, however those are suboptimal for some...
I wouldn't be too concerned about either across the seasons. These are both water resistant chrome tanned hides. The naked hide is not as waterproof as the coated steerhide, but it'll still keep you dry.
Nothing. Maybe hit it with some Vaseline in 15 years.
The 641 is not a “slimmer fit”. It’s just labeled differently so add one to size.
The 641 in 44 is exactly the 141 in 42 except for the leather, which is stiff and shiny on 641, soft and matte on 141.
I would not size up for this because the jacket is already sized to accommodate the zip in...
I just started watching Twin Peaks season 3 (my first time watching this, though of course I've seen the original run) and the 'bad' version of a certain character shows up wearing what I assume is a fashion brand jacket (though of decent quality) but what was interesting about it is that it has...
My childhood best friend. Spotted it at the Schott factory sale so it's a design that may not have gone into full production (or if it did, I don't think it was in the US). It was a cross-zip Perfecto, but no ticket pocket or belt. Very minimalist which let the full front and (one piece) back...
There literally is not a Size L for it to pick. Do you mean you were checking the 654?
From your measurements, you'd be 42 in 141, 44 in 641, and L in 654. Note that the 641/141 will be much more comfortable due to the bi-swing and underarm footballs.
Correct. 641/618/613 are tagged one size bigger than 141/118 of the same measurements. The general rule is to go up a size for the 600, or true to your chest measurement for the 100.
Schott’s sizing tool is great but why would it tell you large when the 141/641 come in numbered sizing?
You should not buy a grizzly jacket* in SoCal.
*with mouton panels
You should buy a grizzly jacket with the much more cool looking hair-on-hide panels in SoCal.
It's happened with both.
The Freewheelers one was on here, the sleeve ripped off at the shoulder.
The FCL Robert ripped open at the underarm gusset on first wear, on Styleforum.
FCL (like Simmons Bilt with the mis-sized jackets) refused to take any responsibility for the faulty construction...
The only reason one particular fetish subculture is mentioned here more often is because we wear the same kinds of jackets as them, and this subforum is outerwear focused.
If this were a more general clothes forum, I'd be making the same points about other clothes that overlap with fetish wear...
Again, not specific to gay guys. When I worked at a secondhand shop in London, we’d carefully inspect women’s clothing as well that seemed to come from fetish styles. It’s just diligence.
I find this virtue signaling idiotic, not just because I was the last target of it. A good idea to wash used stuff in general, but the idea that it’s discriminatory to be more squeamish about those bodily fluids (whether from man or woman) feels like gaslighting.
It’s basically this sketch.
