Is there something you really want to wear but are chicken?

I recently sold my mod faux cheetah coat on ebay and I'm glad I did. The person who won was thrilled and I know she'll wear and enjoy it, unlike me. :)

is silence a valuable form of feedback?

Thank you. And I'm with you. If I was to post a picture and ask for feedback, I would prefer the same as you do. :)

    Vintage Coffee Makers

It depends on the model; some versions have an indicator light when it's ready. I know mine is done when it stops making a (pleasing) racket! :)

is silence a valuable form of feedback?

I have learned that when people state their opinion about YOU, they are still making a statement about THEIR preferences and perspective which I may or may not respect. Also, the way it is stated reveals more about the speaker than the recipient of the feedback. In other words, a rude person is...

    Vintage Coffee Makers

I am still using a percolator although a different one than pictured at the beginning of the thread since the glass bubble on that one no longer stayed secured to the lid. I had a period of being between percolators where I was drinking automatic drip and it tasted dreadful to me. I bought...

YES! I tried it for the first time recently and the tea came out beautifully! I put in two tea bags for a full percolator.

    dear new neighbor

Of course you can make a case for Darwinism by being the guy for whom the balloon popped on the way to the dirty deed or inhaled the "cocktail" as he filled the balloon.

"The man in black who never smiles": how to build a great collection and not enjoy it

I think there is nothing wrong or odd with having a special collection kept private. A lot of collectors and dealers like to remain anon when they buy so as to not affect pricing. They also don't want to get robbed so they tend to not announce prized possessions. As for not smiling, maybe he had...

"I scanned it, so now I own the copyright"?...

"Just looking" ain't cheatin' or stealin' as far as I'm concerned. Legally, you'd have to ask or consult the terms of usage on the website. :)

"I scanned it, so now I own the copyright"?...

I'm not a lawyer, but I am familiar with intellectual property law. Again: Putting a work of art of literature on display does not give away the copyright. That means the public can view it, but that doesn't give you/them the right to redistribute it and all of the other rights assigned only to...

"I scanned it, so now I own the copyright"?...

Reputable publishers have rights clearinghouses to take care of legal licensing requirements.

    Vintage telephones and VoIP

I don't, sorry. I use Time Warner cable, if that helps any; they may be able to give you that info in general.

"I scanned it, so now I own the copyright"?...

False. It may be giving away access but that is not the same as giving away the rights.

    Vintage telephones and VoIP

My cable company including the guy who installed it told my rotary phones wouldn't work with it. What do they know! :)

    You shouldn't have

Even if they were fresh from the store and your size, I've never heard of an employer giving pajamas to an employee! Kooky.

    Vintage telephones and VoIP

I use rotary phones with cable. They work just fine; they ring and the rotary works on the system.
