Interesting....
Now that I think of it, when I was in graduate school, I was usually described by as "the polite one." I never took anything for granted and strove to be the person whom I wanted to be and not what my circumstances conspired to shape me into.
I love your sense of humor! I once had neighbors just like yours. When I called the cops they had a scanner so they always knew in advance. When the cops showed up they'd just not answer the door. CPS came on occasion and nothing worked...not even the mother. She was living on the dole while she...
I grew up in a project. I'm fine, thanks.
Another precursor to poor ways (or, to be more exact, a sense of entitlement) is to grow up without having to face natural consequences of poor behaviors. Again, that can be seen in any socioeconomic group.
Sounds a lot like some upper middle class McMansion trash, too.
Trashy behavior and a lack of respect and class (as in character, not social caste) can be witnessed in any social group.
The law:
"Compilations" of "public domain" art are protected by copyright. That is US copyright law. See Form VA for details about registering this kind of work (visual arts).
Once an image has entered the public domain it is there forever. What is public domain and how is that determined...
I need to update this thread.
I have a relative, the same one who gave me the gift that was the impetus for my starting this thread five years ago, who this year gave me the gift I gave her last year! Yes! Not only did she re-gift, but she gave it to the original giver, me! :eusa_doh: I...

Thank you. I have three books in progress. One is non-fiction self-help, another my memoirs, and the third is a novel. I hope to finish them before I pass away*. Maybe then I can at least be dead and famous. :eusa_doh:;)
*NOT PLANNING ON THAT ANYTIME SOON!**
**I just mean I hope I can get my...
The problem for me is that "youngsters" now seems to apply to people in their 30's. I'm pretty sure that many NYC hipsters are subsidized by their parents. As an example: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/08/nyregion/08trustafarians.html
Interesting.
As I see it, so called "vintageism" for many isn't purely based upon the premise of rebellion or opposition. The hipsters define themselves by negative reactions to the current culture. People who truly appreciate vintage not simply because it's old but because the styles, ideas...
Paranoid alarmism and blissful ignorance have never been helpful to me, either. However, a healthy dose of fear can only be productive when informed action is taken based upon that awareness. After that, it's time to let go because one has done what they can. Meaning, when I get in my car, I...
I don't recall exactly how much it was to be honest, but was under $100. They weren't installed anyplace; it was just an unused box. I'm glad they are gone.
