Can't remember if this was first posted here, but I keep getting reminders on it, so I must have clicked on it at some point. Not my cup of tea, but this looks pretty good at $100
Vintage 1930s Horsehide Leather Jacket Windward Made By Monarch Bomber Sz 38 | eBay
Fits you like a hefty bag...:p:p:p
That's a pretty spot on fit. The knits though on the bottom hem, is that a particular design that had the wider knits? Don't think I've seen anything like that (unless you count the collar they tried to send me )
Being new to the A and G styles...
yep, that's me. Breaking in all my purchases past 6 months. Getting the little ducklings ready for when they can go out and see the world LOL. The only difference is during the summer I was wearing them too, with boxers and of course no shoes as always.
LOL. Yeah, this work from home business has really turned me into a degenerate.
And the dog is like really, more pics of you in a jacket? How about we go play ball instead. YAWN!!! LOL
The laces are just really stretched with that folded leather maxed out. I usually don't tie them anyway...
Got my Cal today from one of John's sales. The 42L cross zip one.
I know from reading some of the many great posts here, there's a few where you see people talking about their epiphany jacket. Well, include me in that group now. Absolutely love this thing and question why I need so many...
I got my Cal from John this morning and straight up, I'd sell all my other jackets and just keep this one if I had no choice. I wish it was just a tad bit bigger because it's going to be Tshirt only and probably unzipped, but the design is unreal. Stylish, comfortable, sleek. Love, love, love...
yeah, I know. But was hoping to have a cheat sheet so for future reference we don't have to ask with every jacket. Could just have a sense of ok 40k range is 1990-1993 range, 50k range is 2000-2005, etc. More of a rule of thumb.
awesome jacket. i bought one of John's Cals and should be arriving today. But this is beautiful especially with the collar. Anyone know if the collar sizes are universal? I want to add one to the one I just bought. I sent a note to Cal yesterday, but not sure if they're around with the lock...
I had that Just Leathers San Jose CHP/Indian Ranger combo thing. Don't know if you saw it in classifieds. Was gorgeous but was big on me. Didn't get any bites here and got lucky returning back to Ebayer since they stated wrong size in description. I think they relisted it. Had the liner and...
fit me to perfection of course. Wonder about the waist and whether that's typical Schott out of line with the rest of the measurements or sized properly like a racer should be, especially with the Japanese market. Who know's what that'll cost to get to US though. Between shipping, taxes and...
ah, interesting. So my math might be wrong. I was going off something on the Vanson website where he said he was making about 100 jackets a week or 5000 a year. It seemed high when I read it, but had nothing else to reference.
But if from 1980 to 2020 it's only 79k, that's more like 2k...
anybody got a cheat sheet on the Vanson serial numbers as to what era they're from?
From the website info, some posts on here and some basic math, it seems like they were making about 5000 jackets a year and the serial numbers started in 1980 after they stopped using the white label.
Would be...
yep. Had a feeling you were 42. I'm 6.0 and 185 lbs and 40 was baggy on me. So with those extra pounds and bigger chest, 42 sounds right. Assuming the sleeve are a little longer than mine, they actually might be ok on you with a 42r. Length you can see in the photo I posted is just barely...
Much better than what he offered me. So be glad. I got a 10% off next order and go fix the other issues myself.
I told Shawn, before I decided to just cut my losses, that spending like a couple hundred bucks to improve the photos on his site would really save him and his customers a lot of...
if you go on Schott website, sometimes they have an online chat person avail. you can ask them for the size chart. You can also plug in your info into the size estimator. Whatever number it tells you is probably going to be relaxed fit (even though you put in slim). Just how Schott is...
