Yeah I noticed this a while back. There seems to be a market place for several people acting as a middle man. They try and find the right mark up, then you buy from them, they go back to original listing and buy there, pocket the difference. The problem is with the bigger vendors, sometimes...
I've picked up 2 Cals in past 2 weeks. Something had to go. The Cals are lighter and I can wear more as a "fashion" jacket. This Branded is 100% made to be on a bike. Still very stylish, but it would be like having a Ferrari to only drive on residential streets.
it's a size 42 on the tag. But as we all know, go by the measurements cause those numbers don't mean much LOL.
No belt. Not sure if it was standard given it has the side laces. I'm in Los Angeles.
It really is a beautiful jacket. I've got a bunch of these kinds of jackets where I don't...
I don't know if the comp weight is aniline. Schott 100 series is aniline and it only takes a few wears to break in. The vanson is known to take years. That's why i was on the hunt for an older one.
gotcha. No worries. I sent email to vanson earlier today. Once they let me know, I'll update you all. Was looking to create a general rule of thumb so we don't have to flood them with emails every time we see one for sale. But it's all good.
secret spy stuff :)
Ok cool. So that's another data point. If you think yours was around 2001. Mine is 4000 later. From what I understand, they number the customs different, so hard to put a number to anything conclusively. But if 80000 is new and 46000 is about 20 years old, it's roughly...
check inside pocket, the one without the zipper. should be on the leather lip. It's embossed so easy to miss too.
Here's some close ups of the leather. I'm hopping the grain on the biswing flap is a precursor of what's coming. Because if so, I done good. But in any case, like I said. It's...
what's the ID number? Should be in one of the pockets or on the wind flap (or the FOB if you still got it). Mine is 50400 something. The ones from 2018 are like 78000. They started numbering around 1984, so figure I'm somewhere on the upper side of the middle there, maybe 1998-2002 range. I...
I just listed my Branded Cross Zip CHP. But, got to figure out international shipping. I think we close to same size. But it's pretty basic design, no flare really.
Really, really love this jacket. But it's just not getting the proper love in my closet and I feel like it's a caged animal. Should go to someone who rides (or maybe wants to look like they do ;) because it's meant to take punishment. I have no doubt this thing will be passed on for the next...
Just landed an Enfield with ID number 50k. Trying to do some homework to see where it lands in the leather spectrum LOL but leather feels and looks good at first touch. Kind of gooey, lots of depth, seeing some smaller sized pebbles and good creases on the sleeves (similar to Schott 100 type...
I've got about 54 weeks before I can start posting photos in here and I can't wait. Some of the best things I've seen have been in this forum. Whatever you do in life (clothes or whatever), if you don't rock it and feel it, it ain't going to work. Go all in or go home. I've seen leather...
What do you guys think about this one? Not sure if it's crappy photography, but the leather doesn't seem as luxurious for the much acclaimed older Vanson stuff. Seems kind of plastic. Need to fix the drooping liner in the back too. Waiting to see if they drop the price more, but may give it...
yeah, I remember you were nice enough to give me a bunch of info. Someone ended up beating me to punch and bought it before I had a chance to finalize, but was thinking about it.
yep, thanks for this. Pretty much confirmed what I thought. I was going to buy the Sportster, I think from you over the summer, but those poofy sleeves had me worried. There's one for sale on classifieds, but still gun shy about the sleeves.
Got the Brooks gold label in mustard/caramel. The...
On another note, how does Brimaco stack up in the hierarchy of standards? Some nice styles.
And coming across a lot of Kehoes lately too. I love the front, but don't like the longer biswing cut in the back.
Ooh nice. There was a similar one in the US couple weeks back but was too small for me. Was an outrageous brown I've never seen before. I do have a Lesco racer arriving maybe tomorrow or Thursday that was a mistake (long story). But if it fits I might keep it. Tagged a 48 but measurements...
Five Star is worth a shot too. If you know your measurements, they will build to your spec for about $250-350. You just need a good jacket for reference so you can give them the exact measurements for the sleeves, shoulders, etc. They're more military style but recently a lot of members have...
welcome. You're like a size 42 Schott :rolleyes::rolleyes: Just kidding, but not too far off. You'll find something. Probably need a 29 ptp and like 21-22ish shoulder.
