here's two of the four I scored this week, the Faun stetson has a grey twin, and I've never seen a hatband like it before, and these are as new, still with the maker's shoptags inside the sweatband. The 3X Stetsons are "Saxon" type, unknown to me previously. I've not come across the seamed...
travels
On this side of the Pacific, the expression is "light in the slipper" not to be confused with "a touch of the slipper" which refers to kicking your opponent when he is on the ground.
in the stone
The best bit in that for me is Siegfried's Death March by Wagner, and I have a funny feeling they might have recorded an extended version on the soundtrack as I have a great D2D version by the LA Philharmonic that doesn't seem as long
milspec
Silly me: I thought the name alone would suffice!:eusa_doh:
shoulder 21.5" across pulled tight
sleeve 22.5" to top of cuff
pit to pit across back 23"
it's a neat fit on me actually but the wife no likee..."looks too new"
What can I do?
never
I NEVER go outside without a hat even if it's to go the chookhouse for some eggs. This country has the worst melanoma rate in the world, and I'm a fair-skinned guy in the subtropics. In the country town where I shop, the amount of guys not much older than me walking around with cancerous...
I just found a Cooper A2 , beautiful condition, must be a Raptor because the pockets are on the front, and it's just that bit too small at 36R. anyone here in Aust interested, I won't bother with evilbay, it'll just go on my market stall otherwise. I also scored a very nice sports shirt by "Don...
Not a big fan of them, but I couldn't let this pass by, which makes four in a week, and I won't crow till I see them,

crown down
I had it done once when I was in Asia, and it was done with a straight razor, but our previous singer did it regularly with disposable Bics, the trick apparently is to work from the crown with the run of the hair, that's all I can tell ya
cut out
I thought the first film to use actual cut-ins was Zelig, but DMDWP was a year earlier, so maybe woody got the idea there and took it one step further.
op shopping
At my local op-shop, or thrift shop I think you guys call them, always keep an eye out I say!
These things were quite common when I was a kid, then they just seemed to vanish from people's homes, maybe as everybody gave up smoking, and are now highly prized by militaria guys. But...
the thing
I can't believe they wanna remake that...it's ridiculous, Carpenter's version is a classic, and from what I gather, the critical rejection at the time of just about the best monster movie EVER, pretty well broke his spirit, because he never achieved those heights again.
LEAVE IT ALONE
LOOK WHAT I FOUND
Your fair dinkum pacific theatre "trench art" P-38 ashtray, probably postwar but a nice piece of chromed brass I think, I haven't seen one in over 20 years.
One prop blade is missing , *#+!!, but at $10, I can live with it. I'll hunt around to see if anyone can fix it, it...
spot on
You won't believe this, but it was an Augusto Sandino T-shirt I got with a bag of coffee that hooked us up in the first place...now he had a nice hat.
great line
Once upon a time I had a ...'short term relationship' with a lady I'd met who was VERY involved in left-wing politics, (which is not under discussion, merely a scene-setting fact) and a collision of style occurred very soon after when I turned up at her fancy dress fundraiser for...
memories
hey don't get me wrong, I'm not being precious: I think Return of the Living Dead is one of the greatest films of all time, but I was a serious fan of monster movies as a kid, and Party beach let me down big time as I recall, gimme Monolith Monsters anyday.
