I like the higher button stance. Higher than you often see on jackets of this era.

Very nice! My guess was 1947 or '48 (which the label confirms). In those two years, U.S. suit jackets briefly returned to the high-buttoning stance. Also, the tunnel loops on the waistband are very typical of those years, though they existed earlier too.


A GREAT suit! If it were in my size, I'd be envious!

Beautiful threads. Enjoy. I think the fat loops were an option for Army officers' pinks, thus probably particularly popular just after the war.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. It was a no hold. I saw and bought it as soon as possible. I'm really looking forward to trying it on, I hope it hugs me like there's no tomorrow!

Congrats on the suit!
I too scored big this weekend. I found a vintage double breasted suit in downtown Long Beach and was nearly breathless when I tried it on and it fit perfectly!

I'm 21, so technically I'm college age. I'm sure I will be saying the same thing when I'm 40! But for now, I'm going to try my best to keep in shape just so I can wear all my clothes and my future clothes.
