    Eastman's A-1 from the Re-Issue Depot.

I have recently become a born again Eastman fan. The A1 is just amazing. Couple this with a great used Roughwear B-3 and I wonder why I aspire to buy very expensive jackets from Japan when such great products are so close to home with out ridiculous import charges.

Best time to sell B3 and A2 jackets

Winter for the B-3 but, these days it's difficult to be sure. It only needs one interested person to sell. Make sure you have very good photographs though. What are the sizes ?

    Cockpit 1942 Reproduction B-3 Jacket

I made an enquiry as to shipping costs to the UK. here's the reply - John, Shipping would be $246.68. This is 7% of the price of the jacket times 4. I would be very surprised if they ever sell anything to the UK ! How can Lost Worlds or HPA send over a jacket for $80 ???

Aero 'Veste de Rallye' just ordered

I remember trying one of these on at Grand Prix Racewear. It was so thick and stiff I just couldn't believe it !

    Cockpit 1942 Reproduction B-3 Jacket

Tom, I used to own one of these, but sold it in time of hardship. It was a very good repro of a 'redskin ' B-3 with fabulous leather and fleece colour, only let down by the stamping of the buckles with Avirex. I sold it to non other than John Chapman of GW who was equally impressed. He...

ELC RW B-3[ well used ]

Yes. I always wash second hand jackets that have been worn [ not yours as it was clean] including horse hide and sheepskin. Use Pears soap dissolved in hot water and wash on a 30 or 40 cycle. The glycerine soap is the main ingredient of saddle soap so it cleans and softens the leather. Allow...

    ELC Capeskin A1 44

The colour is not russet. It's similar to plain chocolate with a slight red hue, But no where near seal brown.

ELC RW B-3[ well used ]

This is the one I won by default for £300. Obviously this had been well well worn by the previous owner. It was pretty grubby around the collar so I had to wash it with glycerine soap at 40 deg. C. When the cycle finished and I removed it from the machine, my heart went through the floor. It...

    ELC Capeskin A1 44

The first impression is that this a very light jacket, almost weightless in fact. I would estimate that the leather is around 1 mm. thick. It feels slightly clingy and stretchy because of the unique way it drapes to the body, quite unlike the GW version which is also Cape. I think JC's...

    The Goodwear Kool-Aid

Steve, I still rate ELC, RMNZ and The Few very highly, and recently bought jackets from them. But then I have no interest in A2's. The most important factor with GW is he actually makes the jacket for you on a one to one basis.

    Luftwaffe winter jackets

I recently bought a LW sheepskin jacket from a member here. This set me thinking what are then specifications for this jacket ? I know there are some well informed members, so please enlighten me .

    Lost Worlds B3 as new

I have decided to sell this as new jacket. It's so thick and warm that it never sees any wear here in southern England. Size 44 it will easily fit a 46 chest as it's slightly oversized. Only occasionally available these jackets are truly bullet proof and will last a lifetime. I...

    Don't judge a book by it's cover

Well done Steve. Bargains are getting harder to find these days.

How much thicker/heavier are the hides on Lost World jackets than other companies?

They are very heavy and totally wind proof. The only reserve would be the generous cut of the jacket at the waist belt. Worth every penny especial if you are in the US
