Hey Diver. I just picked up a pair of new Amber Harness Rangers to add to my Oxbloods. Thought of your thread.
Though my Ambers are new and the Oxbloods have about four months wear, this should give you an idea of color differences. Under artificial light in the room (first pic) there doesn't...
I hear ya, LMM. These days I'm all about sturdy Red Wings and Chippewas. They look great, will last a lifetime if you want them to and never go out of style because their profiles are so classic.
Plus my 2268 RW engineers and these 8'' Chips do nicely on the Harley. They are not technical...
Thanks for the feedback folks. Detractors welcome as well. ;)
I am leaning toward keeping these pups though. They have a unique look and I think they will get even better with age.
Most folks like the 6'' version of this service boot. But the 8'' have slightly different styling and seem to stand out a bit more. Question is, do they stand out too much? haha.

I have the Oxblood currently and really like the utility of the mini vibram (nice stitching underfoot too, not that anyone but bootheads would notice.)
It's a darker, deeper Oxblood. I also enjoy the way the Oxblood is starting to age. It gets lighter in spots with some wear, a bit darker in...
Hey Mike. The C Comet started life as an XL from Vanson. But I liked the jacket so much and it was so rare, I bought it in that size and had it tailored by a very good leather tailor here in L.A. Now, it's about a large, perhaps a bit on the medium side.
Still fits well and I ride with it all...
There sure are some great engineer kicks in here. After back and forth on several makes, I have found the pair for me.
Old Red Wing PT-91 2268s. They are due for a resole, so I'll be taking them to Brian at Role Club here in L.A. soon.
