SwimCap - Love this jacket, I'm not a fan of very short styles so this length looks perfect to me. I think I understand your concerns about the dryness in the hide - the close up of the sleeve does seem to show a bit of a dry flaky texture (unless it's a trick of the camera). I don't own a...
Stunning coat Lear - the lining looks great against the black hide and the zip and stud inner pockets are nice feature. How is the fit? Any pictures of you wearing it?
Enjoy the breaking in process, it will look even better after a bit wear.
Cheers
I would send for a sample and have look at it first. The sample I received seem to change color when creased, leaving light crease lines in hide - for this reason I decided against it.
Kyboots - Cheers John. It's basically a standard Californian pattern but lengthened by 2 inches. It's a good compromise between the short Highwayman and long Half belt styles.
Sir Jacket - I am 5' 11"
The Black Watch lining looks good with black leather or Black Stewart shown in this thread:

Griemersma - great picture! I wasn't sure about the russet color of my jacket when I first got it but I love it now. The jacket in the photo is a lot more fitted but looks very good with the shirt and tie - love the old car too. This photo would go well in the thread about what to wear...
I'm not sure if this russet jerky hide is any different to that already seen - if you have any links to other jackets I would be very interested to compare the look of it.
When I was considering this order, I asked Amanda to send me some suitable medium weight samples. I received smooth seal...
Many thanks for the positive comments gentlemen. I am enjoying wearing this jacket and it was extremely comfortable straight out of the box. The most noticeable thing about this medium weight jerky hide is how quickly it starts to show it's grain compared to the heavy front quarter.
I agree with Mr Peacoat, I don't think it is an issue with the cotton drill or other firm fabrics. I can only comment on my own experience and my jacket lined with the soft worsted wool did drop below the jacket hem after about a month of wear. This has nothing to do with the Highwayman style...
Many thanks. I'm finding the Californian a great addition - it's such a smart style, I wear it out in the evening and it doesn't look out of place at all.
I agree with you on the corduroy pockets, I will never order another another jacket without them - glad you are enjoying your Cheyenne...
I know what you mean, I don't have a problem with them in my Highwayman either, but these were seriously uncomfortable.
I didn't mean to resurrect the 'pros and cons of storm cuffs' argument again, I know it's been discussed at length before :) I was just hoping to show that work like...
