That's interesting. It sounds like the type of varnish I sometimes use. Please can you tell me the make ?
I think if this were applied over a surface that was completely wax free, it would flake off quickly.
There is a product used in the dry cleaning industry called ' Napalene' which will put a shine on dulled leather. Other products used on saddlery leather will produce a similar shine. In WW2 cellulose lacquer was used to re-finish jackets.
I never tried it but I believe regular gloss varnish...
My Radjacke [30's custom bike jacket] in Vintage HH. The leather is stiff at first but has softened up now. I did consider the Oil pull, but others have stated that it suedes very rapidly and after a while looses all it's shine.
On a large jacket or coat that is 3/4 length this may look...
I always use freshly ground coffee when I make coffee with my espresso machine. I even used to buy green beans and roast them in my own mini roaster. The smoky smell is amazing, but it's hard to buy the un-roasted beans these days.
I had a careful think about the buttons and decided that the leather football type would be too difficult to fasten. The cuffs I saw on another jacket and decided to copy them. The pockets are usually fastened with that side of hand. i.e. right pocket, right hand.

They look like this -
I can buy or trade with a new style jacket. Any age...
The Buzz leather is slightly thinner with greater uneven surface grain. The Aero Vintage Brown is more shiny, slightly waxy/translucent and develops a marbled texture over time.
Both are beautiful leathers, but the Buzz is much more expensive. They are now £1050 plus import duty and VAT.

I know Capeskin is the correct leather to use for this jacket, but the Vintage horse hide is very beautiful.
Good to have an Austrian on board, my wife's family is from Wien and Salzburg, we love it over there.
I use both hands to fasten and unfasten the jacket. The reversed fastening would be for women I assume.
A soft but thick hide such a cape from mature sheep would be great.
Good point about the leather. It is a thick chunky, and warm to wear. Both goat and Capeskin would be good I think. I may ask Aero to add a lower strap on both sides so I can tighten it up more around the waist for a snug fit. This might be easier than more tapering.
