It must be a successful scam or else it would disappear. All the scammers seem to be young elegant fashionable native Italians. Kind of like a working holiday job perhaps. With all the similarities it does seem organised.
I know this scam has been around for decades and a friend of mine got caught out about 18 years ago with it and bought 6 fake leather jackets from a scammer.
Yesterday I was doing some shopping when a car pulled over. An Italian man got out, told me he was hopelessly lost and trying to get...
Reading between the lines of your trial narrative, it appeared to me this was the case. If all had gone to plan Aero would have been reduced to an empty shell come Christmas. I guess the plan was to start AL after Christmas but perhaps forced to start up earlier than planned due to WL's...
Even cheap Chinese copyists show more integrity. They usually buy a piece of apparel and get their own people to break it down and create patterns. Then again other respectable makers would do the same to get a piece of a hot item.
The best Aero value is the "Real Deal" Aero 42-15142-P for look and price IMO. The unmatched Jerkey horshide panels with varying grain look very authentic and comparable to my original A2. Heaps of character compared to some more perfect looking jackets that can be bland in that respect. Does...
Not sure about British/Scottish law but it appears similar to Australian Law. If WL has no prior criminal record he may not have to go to prison for a first offence. In any case Aero's reputation will be restored and/or enhanced and knowledagble and discerning buyers will know who is the "real...
This has been discussed before but a big difference between Aero and other high end makers is in the stitching. Every Aero A2 I have seen have heavier guage stiching at around 7 stitches per inch. Most other makers including GW usually have tighter sticthing at around 8 or more stitches per...
I am of the the bull neck type and find little difference between colar stand and no colar stand for comfort. I tend to wear mine unsnapped for this reason with no problems. Can't even find a shirt that I can button up unless custom made.
Great jacket but don't spoil it with a patch unless it really means something to you. Patches are for originals only IMO or for one to have a legit reason to sport one. They should not be fashion statements.
I own A2's from both. Very little difference and both are top of the range. GW offers a wider variety of different contracts and may have more contract correct fine details. GW concentrates mainly on military jackets while Aero have a broader range. Aero have updated and refined their A2...
I believe any artisan made clothing or shoes assembled in its entirity by one person will nearly always show quirks and idiosycratic features including some faults. In items assembled in factory production by numerous workers each specialising in one aspect of constuction eliminate many of...
Petitions are not spontaneous things. There has to be an instigator and an agenda behind them. I have organised many over the years. The issues are usually not on peoples minds until shoved under their noses. A persuasive boss and his offsiders would have no trouble getting signatures. And...
They're seems to be more interest in exotic Italian and Japanese hides also these days. Just the current trend. Choices and options are getting better. No one wants an entire collection of FQHH or goat jackets. A big win for aficionados who are more informed.
