Wow, that's disappointing. I have yet to find a retailer that is actually going to be carrying them. I doubt that I'll consider a pair now unless I can see them first. I am also a little surprised about the price point. Seems a little high especially when you can pick up RW GT's for $75-$100...
White's Traveler?
Anyone out there own a pair of White's "Traveler" boot? If so please share your experiences and any advice. I am looking for a good boot to wear this fall and winter with a sportcoat and trousers, one that I can dress up/down and wear in foul weather...
I'll be ordering two pair from Bookster next month. So far they have been a pleasure to deal with and have been kind enough to send several swatches of their fabric. If there is a source for better trousers I hope someone will let me know.
Cheers
Djgo-cat-go,
Thanks for posting the pictures. My IR's are still pretty new and don't have the patina yours do. Have you treated them with the RW Boot Oil? Your assessment of the boots is spot on and there is certainly nothing more that I can add. They are suprisingly comfortable.
I...
Air it out hell, once the weather cools I may never take it off. Regarding AE, I'll confess that I have napped in mine already in hopes of helping to break it in.
I bought a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers earlier this summer and could not be happier. A little breaking in, for sure, but once you get to that point they are extremely comfortable. Now I am looking for a pair of boots that will be a little dressier for the fall and am torn between Red Wing...
So I have been wearing my new LHB around the house since I got it a week ago. Yesterday I hung it up in my office closet, hoping to keep it off my wife's radar. The thing pulled the entire rack off the wall. Ok, my carpentry skills are not that good and I am sure that had something to do with...
The Wolverine's are great looking, indeed. I wonder how they'll be sized. There is another boot in that line, the Darby, that I really like. Hopefully that boot will be released earlier rather than later.
I can't imagine these boots will be as well built as the Whites. Thoughts?
Good for you. There are many pockets of beautiful "vintage" homes in Detroit. Sherwood Forest, Green Acres, Palmer Woods, the Edison District, Indian Village... the list goes on. What Detroit needs is people like you to buy these homes, move in and invest in the neighborhoods. Unfortunately...
I am in the market for an early (1927-1937) Griffin & Howe Sporter built on a Springfield 1903 action and, of course, chambered in 30-06). Truly a classic American rifle.
They are not available until late October and then only through retailers such as Nortstroms and Nieman's. I called the local Nordstrom's and they had no idea what I was asking about.
Earlier this summer I bought a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers and I have been surprised how much I like them...
Since receiving my Fed IV and Campdraft a couple of months ago I have been surprised at how stiff the Fed IV is compared to the CD. Last month I had a professional steam and bash my Fed and now I want to change it but am having a realy tough time getting the old bash out.
Are all of you...
I tool a tape measure to my new LHB over the weekend and then did a little comparison of measurements against the one leather jacket that I have worn for years and I was surprised by what I found: my new LHB is actually cut a little more generously every place except accross the front (where my...
Just came back after seeing it a second time. Few things I noticed: in the beginning at Michigan State Pen (which looks much more menacing in real life than in the movie) the guards open the gate and then open the door to the prison before the gate is shut. That does not happen. Never are...
I'll get some better pic's up after the weekend. The jacket is just frigging georgous. Rich dark brown and the common riding lining...exactly what I was hoping for. I did order mine w/out storm cuffs and so they left them off.
I really like the jacket. As already intimated, the risk is...
