I have been a big fan of Hamilton's line of automatic watches for years and my only real watch is an automatic Khaki with a british tan strap which gets changed to a black strap in the winter.
I have been hanging around here for the past 6-months and have really enjoyed the discussions of cloths and the history and historical perspective behind them. I am interested in looks and styles that are truly timeless, incorporating elements that don't shout out "vintage" or "retro" but which...
Interesting - a majority of the hats appear to be lighter in color (silverbelly, tan, gray) vs darker (black, charcoal) and not necessarily "coordinated" with the color of top coat.
Thanks, Rob. I called Mr. Taylor and left a message. I'll post what I find out but I doubt that he happens to have an identical coat in a 46L laying around.
Cheers.
I am sure this one has probably been ask before but what are the details on the navy window pain Depp wore in Public Enemies? I really have a jones for that coat.

Sorry to hear your having a problem. I have had mine since April and haven't had any problems. Have you contacted Custom Hide? Given the level or pre-sale support I received I would be very surprised if they did not go out of their way to make you happy.
Please let me know how they...
Art and I have already had that discussion and I'll be sending him pictures next week. Based on our conversation I am expecting less crown and a wider brim than my current lids which means I'll probably be selling my Fed IV Delux and a Borsalino Como this fall. I also expect end up ordering...
Hey, Wineguy, thanks for making my life a little more complicated. I am looking forward to receiving Art's "conformer" next week and starting the process. The problem is there are so many hats on this thread that I covet I am not sure what to order first and every new picture makes it...
I don't know who makes the boots/shoes for Filson, but I know that they don't make them inhouse. If you can find them on sale for a good price go for it. However, for the sticker price I would look elsewhere, speficically Russell Moc. Company in WI. Their boots/shoes are the real deal.
I am also a lefty and an "over-writer" and "Ed" was extremely helpful. I bought an older (early 70's) Parker 75 with a medium nib and Parker Blue/Black ink. I also bought a Lamy plastic pen with a wide nib to play around with. For $30 it was a relativly in expensive way to replace my shrinking...
Found it - right down the street from the Mellinium Hotel, where we were staying. Unfortunatly, they were closed Saturday. Maybe next trip.
Thanks for the suggestion - pretty much what i was looking for.
Cheers
Saw the 1000 Mile boots this afternoon at Scoops. BIG disappointment. I'll pass. They are neither fish, nor fowl - not dress shoes, not dress boots, not casual boots. Red Wings or Whites, much better looking boot for the money.
Looking for a shop that sells and services fountain pens (where the merchant KNOWS how to help a lfety) and I would also like to find a couple of good shoe stors - looking for a selection of well made cap toed shoes or semi-dress boots.
Thanks
Skeet,
I think most of Filson's "tin cloth" products are still high quality and their wool stuff is still top shelf, but there are more and more products with plastic buckels and "improved" materials. Their biggest problem is that they made good that are so durable it takes a life time to...
