I take my upland shooting VERY seriously and I have had one for almost 20 years. I have not used it in almost 19 years. There is nothing practical about this vest. In fact, it is very impractical. First, a vest should have a game bag hanging off the back - this one does not. As a result...
If you really want to appreciate just how good they were together watch a few scenes from the first movie with the sound off. You really focus on the ques they take from each other - you really can't tell they are acting. They were so spontaneous.
The movies have always been among my...
I have been searching high and low for winter weight (even mid-weight) charcoal flannel pants and have had absolutely no luck. Nothing even coming close to the weight and feel of nice heavy flannel. Talked with the proprietor of Van Bovens, a serious old-time mens store in Ann Arbor, Michigan...
Myrna and Dick had a chemistry that has never been duplicated and probably neever will. There was just something special there that transcends acting. I don't think there are any actors out there to day that could possibly duplicate that chemistry, regardless of their acting ability...
Guess I have a "gun pocket" on heach side of my LHB. Not sure about carrying my Kimber CDP cocked and locked in one of those pockets. I am pretty sure the gun would fit, but I am not sure about being able to get the gun out quickly if I needed to. I think a small frame .357 would be ideal though.
Well I searched the forum assuming that I would find at least general guidelines, but I did not. Anyway, I supose it would be a good refresher for all. Would someone please post the general guidelines and etiquitte associated with wearing a hat?
Thank you in advance,
Doublegun
I have one on each side of my LHB probably big enough for a small frame wheel gun of a compact semi-auto.
BTW - was in shopping this afternoon and stopped in a mens store looking for a pair of heavy flannel wool pants. (virtually impossible to find). The men working in the store went nuts...
I am partial to Buffalo Trace although I had a one night thing with a bottle of Old Pogue recently that is making me re-think my taste in hootch.
Cheers.
Sidearm - like I said; 45 Long Cold, .357 Mag or .44 Mag. Don't forget a good holster that is easily accessible. Also, practice shooting A LOT holding the gun in your left hand, right hand and both hands. You have to be able to handle the gun single handed. There are also the .454 and .500...
Brown bears or black bears? BIG difference. The fishing guides that I know in AK carry 12 ga shotguns with extended tubes. First couple of rounds are bird shot intended to scare or sting a bear but the rest are copper slugs. If you are going to carry a handgun for bears I think most "experts"...
I was thinking the same thing but I suppose it depends on the kind of "work" one does.
For me the Traveler is probably the closest to what I am looking for. I would like to see the "Darby" from Wolverine but if they are like the 1,000 mile boot I am sure that I'll be disappointed.
Just received my second hat from Art (pictures coming). The first is Dark Moss with matching binding and ribbon with a burnt orange flash and the other is Midnite Blue with matching ribbon and his signature knot.
Question: do all of you fill out the name card that goes inside the band...
You can get a capped toe on the Semi-Dress from Whites but you can't get the Traveler from Whites, only Bakers. The Traveler is made for Baker by Whites and is available only through Baker.
