    Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

Bought a pair of Frye Harness boots a couple of years ago and my feet spend most of the winter in them (except when I have to dress for work). They keep my feet warm and dry no matter how much snow, slush or rain and they look better every time I wear them.

    30's~40's Work Boots

Ended up asking them to add the Vibram sole mentioned above. Thought the double leather sole would take-away from the overall dress appearance of the boots. Whites should be done building them by early next week so I'll have them sometime the week of the 7th. The countdown begins.

    30's~40's Work Boots

I am having second thoughts about just a single sole and may call Monday to add to my order. I would not add a second layer of leather (would make the boots too stiff) but I am thinking that I should have ordered the vibram sole for walking in rain/snow here in Michigan. I will wear these for...

    30's~40's Work Boots

Well, a man can only take so much before he breaks. I pulled the trigger this afternoon and ordered a pair of Baker (Whites) Travelers. Brown dress leather with toe cap, single leather sole and antique brass eyelets. Three weeks and counting. I'll post pictures upon receipt.

    30's~40's Work Boots

For me, it came down to the Beans and the RW Iron Rangers and I bought the RW's and wear them almost daily. No regrets.

Thanks John. I would love to know and try to have one made (assuming that it is not cost prohibitive).

    The Filson Thread

I have had a Medium Field Bag (Style #232) for 15-years and it has served me well. No zippers, just the leather straps and then snaps on the front two pockets. There is a map-pocket on the back, small open pockets on both sides, two medium bellows-type pockets on the front. The interior is one...

    Customer experiences with Aero Leather

I had worries when I received my LHB. The coat was so stiff and felt so tight that I had a hard time even getting it on an zipping it up. Without seeing pictures it is very hard to tell how the coat fits but I can tell you that my LHB has relaxed a lot and fits me well. You just may have to...

    Ancestor hat pics

The gun appears to be a standard pre-64 M94. 1964 is the critical year for collectors of Winchesters with pre-64 guns attracting a premium. The curved buttplate and the extended wood indicate pre-64 manufacturing.

Aero buffalo, anyone have any experience with Aero's buffalo hide?

Mark, Thanks for posting. Is there any chance that Aero will offer the leather in a different color? To me, and maybe it is just the pictures, the leather looks a little bright, almost orange like a basketball, not a rich color like the other leathers offered by Aero. Thanks, Jay

    Ancestor hat pics

I thought the same thing, myself. My dad (and the two fellows on his right side) were visiting AC for a National School Boards Convention. They were all three from Indiana - which makes the hat thing even more remarkable. This is actually one of my favorite photos of my dad.

Aero Jackets - you get what you pay for...

Upon the advice of many members of this board I ordered mine directly through Aero Scotland. Nothing wrong with dealing with Mark - it was just suggested that since this was my first Aero and there would be back and forth questions I work directly with Amanda. The jackets are the same - they...

Aero Jackets - you get what you pay for...

I was told this would happen before I ordered my LHB but I really did not believe it. The Claymore Shop in Birmingham Michigan is about as up-scale as you will find in the Midwest. Suits made from scratch, beautiful materials, lots of texture, shoes from Alden, a fair amount of Polo and RL...

Winter weight wool flannel pants - is that asking for too much?

Exactly. They treat people like they (BB) has the corner on the class market and their stores are the only place in town to get a decent suit. Maybe 50-years ago, but not today.

Winter weight wool flannel pants - is that asking for too much?

Stopped in Brooks Brothers as well. Never have I seen such a collection of horses-asses in one place. Their sales staff are among the worst I have ever dealt with. I keep having to remind myself not to go in there - they are simply the worst.

Winter weight wool flannel pants - is that asking for too much?

Stopped in at the Ralph Lauren store this afternoon. They have some reasonably heavy flannels that feel very nice. They should for $395
