For me it was my love of Swing Jazz.
Then I started looking up all of the bands that I liked and when I saw how everyone dressed decently back in the day and I realized what a "bum" I looked like that from there it spread to my clothing etc .etc. till what you see before you today is what I am...
In my Blue Heaven
For me it's sitting in my living room surrounded by all of the 1930's furnishings that I have restored, in my suit ,reading the paper with a glass of our locally brewed libation Narragansett Lager with the 1920's radio network playing in the back ground and then the female...
Looking at this thread reminded me that my Pipe Major's ( I play in a pipe and drum band) husband's father used to work for the streetcar company here in Providence until they got rid of the system in the 1960's.
One night while over the Pipe Major's house for a bagpipe music lesson I remarked...

I kept watching and a second clip came on about the ultimate barn find and this guy is pulling out all these very vintage motorcycles I was drooling the whole time .
I hope more people will post stuff like that...

Last time someone called here taking a survey, my Jack Russell terrier was on my lap playing with a chew toy and if I
moved even a hair he would start growling really mean sounding , so as the poor woman is asking me questions I give
her the" can you hold on for just a second " , I then move...
Talking about the old time dept. stores can anyone say " Woolworth's " they were a chain but not like in the modern sense of the word.
I really miss the old " five & dime "stores they were everywhere ,now they are gone and go try to buy something in a store
today for a nickel or a dime .
All...
The Dobb's Hat company hats because I like the quality and style .
I now have about 4 or 5 Dobbs that all "look" alike as far as the style but of course in different colors .
As other posters already stated it is hard to just nail it down to one brand .
Justin we are all going to miss you...
I had the same thing happen to me on E bay with a seller in England when I bought a bunch of Conan The Barbarian paper backs.
I sent the cash and waited and then nothing , emailed him and he stated he was on holiday and would ship the books, again nothing .
Yet another e mail and then again...

Looking at that pamphlet reminds me of the old phones themselves ,they were heavy duty, the ones made by bell electric I think they were made out of Bakelite and were heavy as hell you could kill someone just with the receiver!

Also out in the Block Island Sound between Block Island .Rhode island and the mainland here there is a sunken u boat that...
Man you said a mouthful there , I am always amazed at how people go out in public and look like complete slobs both men and women .
Also as you stated the stores are tacky as well.
In my area Almac's ( Al and Mac ) was the mom and pop " chain " if you could call them a chain were great...
