    Help find G1 or A2

The Japanese jackets are off the rack sizes I believe. May work for you or not but someone like Steve S will make one to your preferred measurements for a much better price and he has some top class goat and mouton.

    NEW W&G M-422a repro

That looks great. If I didn't have a perfect original M422-A, I would order one myself. Steve is great to deal with. Makes every effort to get the details and measurements right. I love the Grizzly he made for me recently. For now I can only keep admiring it until the weatther cools down.

Most Over-rated Actress of the Golden Era?

Agree with that too. Despite having some talent I always found Norma Shearer bland and lacking charisma despite getting mostly prestigious roles. After making THE BARRETS OF WIMPOLE SREET she starred in two of the most pretentious and enormously expensive costume films of the period, ROMEO...

Most Over-rated Actress of the Golden Era?

I recall seeing one of John Wayne's brief early roles in in the lurid over the top precede BABY FACE. Here he plays an office boy, a temporary play thing for Barbara Stanwyck who twists him around her finger. Though his role is that of a hapless jerk there was something about him that was...

Most Over-rated Actress of the Golden Era?

I never really thought much about overrated actresses from the golden era much. All to me had something to offer, be it just talent, personality, star quality or beauty. If I have to name one it would be Norma Shearer. Being married to Irving Thalberg no doubt helped her land plumb roles better...

    Another Asian Repro Co

Copying in China and other parts of Asia has deep cultural roots. They just don't see anything wrong with it and is well embedded in their artistic and academic past. It was preferable for thousands of years to copy works of past masters and periods than to create ones own as well as using their...

    Sizing A Bogen & Tannenbaum AN-6552

I recently bought a very nice example of a Willis & Geiger AN-6552 from Nick123. It also appears to have synthetic stitching. As with your jacket the front panel terminates approximately under the armpit but angles down backwards significantly leaving a very short lower back strap. Mine is a...

    Hartmann fit opinions...?

Agree with the consensus. Great fit. May mold a little better after breaking in. Length is perfect for this style. Looking at photos of originals, many pilots wore theirs even trimmer than this.

    Politics and outwear

What I can't get my head around is that all these luxury brands are far more expensive in China despite many being made over there. Expect to pay around a 20% premium more than in Australia or up to double what it costs in the US for many big name things made in China. Even discounted items...

    Thedi Leathers, thoughts?

Thanks Theodoros. Congratulations for your outstanding jackets and succeeding in horrific economic times in your country. Well this thread did get sidetracked but understandable when BK's hideout is a secrative mystery that all here as well as yourself cannot fathom. The comparison is made...

    Politics and outwear

I have been to China every year for over a decade and to Vietnam at least eight times. There are millions of fine craftspersons there, more than perhaps the entire population of New York. Seen amazing work in many trades done with the most basic tools in traditional ways. Give them the right...

    Thedi Leathers, thoughts?

Theodoros is one hell of a creative beast. Flourishes that might look tacky on other jackets look inspired on his works. He has mastered the art of form and style.
