That's the plan. Will be there a week from Monday. A standard 40R, 41R or 42R off the rack fits me just fine in almost any jacket. But, I do want a more trim cut through the area between the chest and waistband. As G&B's are notorious for being generous in this area, we plan to cut back a bit on...
I was considering that. The jacket is made offshore (Pakistan?). Their Signature G-1 is in my closet. Great jacket, but their collars are just a bit oversized. Great price at $269, with free shipping. Their Signature G-1's are now around $540.
I made a phone call. I was advised that the jacket is made in Illinois, which makes me think Excelled Sheepskin Co. When I asked about Excelled being the manufacturer, the response was..."It's possible."
70 pounds lighter? That would make anything and everything a better fit, starting with blue jeans!
Yes, nylon/satin has a place here. A well deserved place.
My Alpha Vintage B-15, Cockpit CWU-45P, Cockpit MA-1, and Alpha Nomex CWU-45P are all much warmer, much softer, and much lighter than any of my A-2's or G-1's. Need more proof?
Just found this jacket again, USA made G-1, $175.

Anyone here familiar with this jacket? A modestly priced G-1, made here in the USA (Illinois). It is constructed of 3.0 oz cow hide. $399 with free shipping.
Any feedback on this one?

At $1000, it looks to be very nice. But more than I care to invest in a jacket.
My size is 41 or 42R, being 5' 11' and 178-182 pounds. My Cockpit G-1 (42R) was a good fit (sold), although just a bit snug. The Cockpit 40R A-2 fit me perfectly, and Jacky (Mrs. Cockpit) advised the G-1 in a 42...
My artist advises that she can do a vintage painting, or a modern rendition, i.e., faded and aged vs. new and bright. As the jacket is a new one, and the aircraft is new, we will opt for the later. That way the jacket and artwork will age together.
Yes, I too hope my wife likes the painting. It...
This most likely has been asked and answered here...what about G&B? I like their A-2 so well that a G-1 is being considered. The question is size. My A-2 is a 42R and is a perfect fit. Reading that many had to downsize their G&B jacket, does that imply that a size 40R needs to be ordered? I can...
The patch was something that we put together, and three different artists made a version for me. One of them failed to follow instructions that were plainly stated. I won't mention any names. But Sean Collins, and Jim Buchanan did an awesome job. The patch in the photo was Jim's work. A "one...
I stand corrected. Felt like I was the Lone Ranger here. Yes, the spotlight is mostly taken by the vintage types, which made me think that this was the major and primary area of interest with regards to A-2's, G-1's, B-3's, etc., on this forum.
