WH1,
Thank you for taking the time to copy all these pages! Your contribution helped me make a decision to buy a sports jacket recently by comparing it to the images here. One of the knowledgeable people on this forum pronounced it late 30s- early forties! Thanks again!

Does anyone know when this company was in business? I've done some research on the www finding only some information about them prior to WWII. Tomasso found a beginning date of 1896 for another thread. A "went out of business date" (if there is one) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I just won this one made by Ed. V. Price & Co. of Chicago. I couldn't find anything on the www about how long they were in business. They were certainly around pre-WWII.
Diamondback,
Roguish? That's the nicest thing anyone has said about me for a long while now. Thanks! For example, I was recently described by someone in my office that I don't know personally and vice-versa (think a big office) - as "that salt and peppered headed gentleman who goes to the...
Well, I went ahead and joined even though I'm about 10 hours from the nearest caper. I got the clothes and the guns. Unfortunately, right now I don't have the time to drive 20 hours round trip or organize a local group but maybe in the near future? Couldn't pass up getting in at the...
Again, I very much appreciate all for the comments. I'll sort it all out and try again. I've never before spent this amount of time trying to match my clothing correctly. Now with this new "dressing nice" addiction I've had to learn about colors and patterns, etc. Who says you can't teach an...
I really appreciate all the replies - great advice! I'll try to get together some of these colors and report back. In the meantime, how about a S.L. Bird & Sons teal-colored hat and a paisley tie with the matching colors? I know, my wife rolled her eyes too. Heaven help me, I like it...
Well, I finally got my clothes together and put on the circa 1956 charcoal gray DB suit I acquired a while back along with a white Ralph Lauren shirt, light blue linen tie with fleir-de-lis decos from the 40s; a medium blue, gray and dark blue pocket square; Optimo hat in Skyline blue; and...
I had never heard of this machine gun and had to go to Wikipedia to see a photo. Very interesting looking weapon and different because it was made in 9mm!
Lauren - my all-time favorite girl's name and the name of my daughter. This is related to me seeing "To Have and Have Not" with a 19 year old Lauren Bacall at a very young and impressionable age. Congrats on the girl child! Tell your husband to start saving now because daddy's little girl...
What is a hacking jacket?
I've seen this type of jacket referred to in some posts but with no real definition. What activities, events, etc. would one wear a hacking jacket? Thank you for your time.
