I am going to make another dress like this but I find that the waist is a little high. I know how to lengthen the bodice pattern I'm just not exactly sure by how much. At the moment I'm thinking 1 ". I would like to make it 1.5"-2" but I'm worried about having to make the dart taper from...

Funny story
I've only recently started wearing seamed stockings. One of the things I struggle with is getting the seams straight and centered. I don't have a full length mirror but I do have a mirror on my headboard. I lay down with my head at the foot of the bed and raise my legs up in the...
How did you draw your own skirt sloper? I'm in the process of designing a dress. I have finished the bodice sloper. This is the website I used, http://www.leenas.com/English/draw_patterns.html. I really liked the instructions and I know they have some directions for skirt slopers also.
Hmm, I'm not sure. I think it was called soft crinoline...you know what, it doesn't fray so it must be tulle (right?) Anyways, it's specially made for petticoats because it's not scratchy. PLUS it was cheaper than the scratchy stuff. The older ladies at the fabricland showed it to me as soon...
I finally made a crinoline. I love it! I used my serger to gather the tiers so it was super easy. The bottom tier is 40m. Tada!
And here it is with my first circle skirt. I decided to do the hem by hand. It wasn't as hard as I imagined it would be.
Haha, you can see my reverse...
What is that!?
I've seen a few bodices with this feature. And I never knew what it was called. Then I saw this video....

A skipping rope!
I did kickboxing in university, and it's an excellent combination of strength training, cardio and endurance. I really enjoyed it and it got me in great shape. It's intense like spinning but there's more interaction, talking to people, and laughing.
Bioderma Sebium 'Al' Intensive Care
I tried this for my acne. It did nothing for my skin plus it made it feel very tight, dry and itchy - might be the perfume. And it's super expensive!
I would like to start a thread for extreme product reviews - things you have bought or tried that you feel very strongly about. If we keep one product in each reply and the name of the product in the title it should be easy to browse and find something that has been of interest. This is just...
This thread is full of beautiful ideas and styles; it needs to be brought back to life.
Here's a cute video I stumbled upon. The sound isn't great.
I couldn't make this video work so here is the URL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDHxrUHMXg0
This one is funny. I really like the...
I first started sewing with a new White machine. The machine was not reliable and hard to work with. But to be fair, I didn't always use it properly. I was a novice at sewing and at using sewing machines.
Then I found a sewing machine at a garage sale. I bought it from the original owner...
Does the machine have a vertical (with bobbin case) asssembly or a horizontal (drop-in bobbin) assembly? If it's a drop-in bobbin make sure to get the class-66 bobbins.
