That's a good fittin' B-3 Jacket if you ask me.
I get a compliment once in awhile off the street' in a B-3 Jacket...
'I like your jacket' usually.
I've had a few snide remarks, of course!... but those people are looking for anything in general as a pre-text to trap you.
What was that...
If a brand new B-3 Jacket feels a bit restrictive in terms of movement and mobility remember: You have to BREAK THE JACKET IN!!! The air crew Found that their clothing took several months to break in and then it would fit comfortably. Just something to keep in mind.
I picked one of these Jackets up used downtown back 20 years ago. I hardly wore it, always hated the fit, it drove me nuts, it was all wrong for me...that said it was a good jacket but always tended to ride up and wore like a garbage bag... and really never had the room in the shoulders I needed.
Ah, Yes. Thank you very much for taking time with me once again. I've measured twice and it must be size 'Medium'. After a final head measurement of 22 3/8 inches around.
I'm not sure I follow the size chart, it's just XS,S,M,L,XL
Whether that's 'US' or 'UK' sizing?
I don't know if anyone might be able to help.
I fit a size 7 1/8 hat size, my head measures in around 21.7 inches roughly.
Best I can figure is I'm either a Small to medium...or a Medium to Large...
How do you measure the sizing of the flying helmet?
Also, did you have to ask for anything custom?
What about those goggle lenses etc? I've always wanted some of those goggles, they were too pricey for me as a kid.
Your B-6 Flying helmet looks totally awesome! I'd wear that with the goggles...
Fivestar makes a B-6 Type flight helmet?
has anyone got any detail photos or reviews about these?
Also the fivestar site has a B-3 'Mixed batch' looking jacket, anyone have any more info about these jackets?
Roundels? Are those like the AAF 'decals' Transfers or the leather shoulder pieces? I'm not familiar, if you might be able to fill me in? in either case, I would like to know more about both these things.
That spot looks like nothing to worry about. They're pretty tough Jackets.
I've done worse to my Repro G-1 Jackets and lived to tell. A cut, nick or scratch here or there... Just let the jacket tell a story over time with the wear and tear. The patina will take a few years, you'll notice one...
Man, it looks awesome, but the little voice in me says that Jacket should remain in retirement IMHO...They're like 80 year old Jackets now, you know?
Get some MK VIII goggles to display that Jacket in a shadow box, that's what I'd do...then save up and Get a new Eastman Irvin
90 Euros seems a bit expensive for one of those M-51 Wool Jackets. In North America a used M51 Jacket is cheap, I am used to seeing those Jackets.
excellent Jackets and look and feel great!
I really love the M51 field trousers/pants! Highly recommend!
