I on the other hand enjoy british beer to American. American beer have too much preservatives in the ingredients. Carlsberg Special Brew for lager and McEwan's Pale 80 for darker. A Black and Tan in Ireland or a Killkenny but I think that was discontinued.
Your taste buds were not wrong if you tried Schlitz back in the mid-late 60s. They started skimping on ingredients and it was the beginning of the end. This time supposedly they are using original ingredients. It was a very nice hops beer, I hope it will be again.
