I picked up these two ceremonial IOOF robes last week.

This black and creme one seems to be what they called a silk plush in the catalog. Sort of velour like. It has a silk braiding...
Had my Gap jacket out in the rain today.

It might take a day or two to dry out.

Thanks RBH. I have to say I like his look, but the mustache seems a little high maintenance. I wonder if I have a round fur hat like that one.
Thanks,
Michael
As I mentioned, it was a day of many hats here today. Out in the rain on the bike for a couple of hours under the Filson Tin Cloth packer

Thanks Stefan. I'll give the nod to the Knox as well. But it was a day of many hats here.
Looks great. Have we heard where it was made yet?
Thanks Daniele. I've very much been enjoying your autumn season hats display. All very nice.
The good edible kind, but not the entertaining kind...
Thanks Dale. The thrifts are boom and bust, but you are welcome to visit any time. As predicted, the Noble Grand got some use this morning, along with another smoking cap.

Ha ha, I think they are one size fits all, Jim. I couldn't resist another one today, this one for a Noble Grand.

I expect I'll be wearing it for tomorrows coffee. They were made in New London Ohio between 1888 and 1913.
Wasn't Norms that guy on Cheers...
I think I have two or three of these, though they don't get worn often. One is an ordinary grey herringbone and then there is this one

You're right, it needs a tassel. I'm not sure the long velvet is the best choice for biking, though it might be fun to try it. Maybe with the one I got today.
Thanks Stefan. This one goes through dry spells, but I think I had it out only a week or two ago. The tall square block and very thin...
Ha ha, thanks Alan. I would like to be the fly that jumps off your shoulder and gets locked into your hat room after you pick out your daily fare.
And speaking of daily fare, I think that is my all time favorite color in a hat. Magnificent.
Thanks,
Michael
Up and dressed now, though still drinking coffee. Gordon Feature Felt keeping my head warm

Thanks Dale. i have the feeling it will find more use this winter than it's seen in the last 100+ years.
Ha ha, thanks Bob. I was going to make a comment along those lines, but I decided why beat a dead horse. They have an absolute trove of these at my favorite vintage store, some very fancy...

That brim is pretty much the way it came to me, Red. The stains too. I don't drive much, but I do have a car. During the summer it probably gets started once a month or so. Maybe less. I think the furthest parts of the two towns here are maybe 35 or 40 minutes away by bike and maybe 15-20...
