I just googled it: Alejandro Ignacio?
His name is Ignacio Reyes. Sombrerería Escandón. Daniel sent you his Yelp.
This is a newspaper article about him. He's also had TV interviews.
I have spent many hours with him while he's working on my hats. He thinks he overcharges us because we're gringos, but he is still very inexpensive, so we don't complain.

I dunno. Both the tag and the oilskin liner pushes the date back. The tag, with block, depth, and the rest does, as well Your estimate is as good as any.

A Twenty dollar hat back then was quite the hat.

Thanks for your help, Frunobulax. You all have such nice lids here. No one I know in my county, or counties around, wears nice fedoras... that I know of.
Course, I live in a very rural area. Nothing out here but planted pines.

Both are great outfits in their own way, Michael. My vote goes to the Knox though.
Thanks Stefan. I'll give the nod to the Knox as well. But it was a day of many hats here.

Weather not as bad today as predicted. New one (to me)

Looks great. Have we heard where it was made yet?

Fantastico! Niente di più o di meno
Thanks Daniele. I've very much been enjoying your autumn season hats display. All very nice.

Yesterday and today Michael....am feeling the need to chant.
Am curious what type of mushrooms you’ve been finding lately!!

The good edible kind, but not the entertaining kind. Maybe I should try hunting in the new robes? I have noticed my smoke rings have improved.

Saturday is just another work night for me. Vintage taupe Knox is called into service for the first time this fall season.

Great color combo on that one, Bill. Lovely bit of hat art there.

Thanks,
Michael

Thanks Dale. The thrifts are boom and bust, but you are welcome to visit any time. As predicted, the Noble Grand got some use this morning, along with another smoking cap.

As I mentioned, it was a day of many hats here today. Out in the rain on the bike for a couple of hours under the Filson Tin Cloth packer

Then dried off under this Marathon

And now I'm sitting here under an OR, but no photos, fortunately.

Have a good evening. Think it's about bedtime here,
Michael

A question, Stefan, who doesn't want to be absolutely provocative. The two hats (very beautiful) have a similar color and the shape also has similarities. Without being overshadowed by your passion for Borsalino what are the differences you find in the two hats?
Thanks, Daniele. That's a very valid question actually and I did compare the two after the Princeton hat came home with me. Before buying it I did consider that I already have quite a lot of hats in this colour scheme and of similar shape and proportions. "Yes, but it has this nice coloured ribbon and cool bow design! Go on then: buy it!" That's the sound of me talking myself into buying another hat.
Maybe it's because it does come close to the classic Borsalino design that I liked it. I have compared the two and have set both next to the Mayser in brown I was wearing earlier this week. The Princeton and the Mayser are very alike, with the edge going to the Mayser just a tiny bit when it comes to the hand of the felt. And that's where the Borsalino leaves both of them in the dust. Extremely smooth to the touch and the felt just goes anywhere you want and stays there.

Today....it’s easy to get spoiled hat collecting. How often do we ignore or dismiss a fine hat so as to wear a favorite?
I know i do often and always feel obsessive when i remember those not worn.
So...a lovely old Strat that’s been lost in the crowd far too long rides the day.
Be well. Bowen
Good to see a benchsitter getting some playtime, Bowen.
