Thanks Stefan. I think the hat is from the 60s, but coats like this had a run from around 1947 to 1952. There were a number of makers, but almost all ads and catalogs I've seen them in fall into that time frame. Wool and rayon blend gabardine shell with alpaca pile lining and mouton collar...
Yes, i could wish for a better background, but I have a very limited number of areas where I can leave a tripod permanently set up. The coat is from the late 40s or early 50s. Made in St Paul Minnesota by Zero King.
Thanks,
Michael

Thanks Steve. This amount of snow is very unusual for this time of year. And the low tonight will almost surely beat the old record by a fair amount. They are saying 0 F/-18 C tonight. Will probably need the same hat tomorrow and even more coat.
Michael
Thanks Stefan. I think all of the ads I found for this model are from 1959, so it may have been a short lived one.
Fantastic Dalton, Stefan. Love that wide binding. Great looking 25, too.
Thanks Tim. It was the right amount of clothes and hat. It's 22 here now and getting down to 6 or so...
Out shoveling a little of the new white stuff this morning.

Thanks Reggie. These came from the closet of the owner of my favorite vintage store. He said he bought them used 25 years ago and had only worn them a couple of times. I'm hoping to get a bit more wear than that on them.
Thanks,
Michael
I took this cap out for a bike ride today.

Thanks Perry. I was digging around for a heavier sweater, but then I ran across this sweater vest and decided to go with it. I like that sweater you have on today a lot. Great style and great look with the VS.
Great color on the Dallas and nice match with the sweater. I think I have an Aran...
Thanks for the offer of knowledge. I may decide to do it myself, unless I decide to get up to my Mom's for Christmas. I had a shoemaker up there do my flight boots and I think it only cost about twice what the sole tops cost. And he did a very nice job of it. I do have quite a few other...

Thanks. I think it was my first western hat purchase. Still one of my favorites.
They are Florsheims. From the date code I'm thinking they were made in 1970.
Thanks all,
lMichael
Ha ha, thanks barnabux. Had to throw something together to try out the 1970 Florsheim boots.
Thanks Bowen. Definitely my heaviest sheepskin. The vice ain't much, but it and the anvil end do find some use when I'm bending some metal. i miss my forge and big 100 lb anvil.
Thanks,
Michael
