In a really grey and dark day, in a short stop of rain I have the chance to wear this Cavanagh
CavH 3.jpg

I can show off this American hat because of the kindness of Stefan (Steur) who offered me this beauty in one of our periodic exchanges
CavH 4.jpg

It is a size 7 1/2, cost $ 20.00 and the color of the felt is "Midnite". There are others numbers on the paper label to date the hat for conoisseurs, not me. I think it came from the sixties
CavH 2.jpg

The hat is a homburg with narrow trim on the brim and a low crown. The ribbon is frayed and dark red-blue in fantastic color
CavH 5.jpg
I really like the subtle contrasting colors of the ribbon and the bow
CavH 1.jpg
I am very happy to wear it because it is one of the rare vintage American hats I have in my collection
Grazie Stefan!

Thanks for the likes on the Borsalino "Ghiaccio" and your kind words
Buon Lunedì!

Since we're starting them young....
My youngest grandson.
Great photo! I now understand what my grandfather meant when he told a friend... '' now I understand why they call them grand.''
On a side note, I know that you favor the turned up short brim. But man! This hat is the best look I have seen on you yet!
Well done!

The coat is beauty Michael, and the hat compliments it so well. But the brick wall background? You could caption that photo with:
"Any last requests before sentence is carried out?" (just teasing my friend.)

Lee All American in the 5'F or -15C temps this morning. Direct low light does not accurately showcase the advertised Buckskin hue of the All American.

Best, Eric -
If fashion is instant then style is timeless, and that hat is true style, perfect on a cold, crisp morning.

A much as I'd like it to be Peacock green Stratoliner day, it ain't happening. The coldest northern of the season blew into Texas this morning. In central Texas, sustained winds of 29 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Current temp is 35F making wind chill in the teens and low 20's. My heavy duty coat and sweater from the Aran Sweater Market (I picked up this sweater "at the factory" in Ireland back in 2018). The hat, or should I say cap, for the day is my trusty green Hanna Flat cap.

Enjoy the day...and stay warm!

Thanks Stefan. I think all of the ads I found for this model are from 1959, so it may have been a short lived one.

Fantastic Dalton, Stefan. Love that wide binding. Great looking 25, too.

Thanks Tim. It was the right amount of clothes and hat. It's 22 here now and getting down to 6 or so tonight. Fortunately the snow is over for now. Doesn't seem quite right for mid-November in any case.

Thanks,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. Have to compare my wide brimmed white knight hats sometime.
