I agree with this. I've always found Horween FQHH to be a poor insulator in cold weather.
As to the thicker leather being uncomfortable when it's warmer. Well yes it is. So therefore it must be warmer than thinner leather. Thick cowhide jackets I've had have certainly been warmer than thin...
Well I wouldn't have thought so. It would just be a lighter hand applied top coat I imagine so it came off easier. But I'm only speculating that this is what's happening.
Like others above I wonder if the makers are specifying easy to age leather now. I've also got older CX jackets, and a black ten year old one is only showing the brown base in a couple of places where it's been scuffed. I like that effect in moderation but I wouldn't want a new jacket to show it...
You miss several points. Who? If someone is charged they are named. To be charged is not the same as to be arrested.
So I keep asking him why hasn't the man been named? I also asked him if that part of the contempt law is different in Scotland? Because I'm not aware that it is. However it...
Yes I know. But my main point is that they are named after being charged. So has this mystery man been charged or not? If so why can't you name him? Or is the law in that regard different in Scotland?
I was under the impression that naming arrested people was not an offence under UK law but simply left the newspaper at risk of litigation from the person named. However after the person is charged there is no risk of libel and it's normal to name that person but not go into any other detail...
There are other makers who post slightly critical comments about their competitors products and leathers in dedicated threads, and they tend to get slagged off by certain members here. I wonder if your comment will attract the same amount of ire....
Incidentally I believe you sell jackets in...
Yes I've got a jacket on order in the CX Bison and just noticed that the FQHH is available now too. Decisions, decisions...
I don't think Horween really had a problem with them judging by the reply FredS got from them on his Horween leather thread.
Thanks Mike. This leather is just so much better than the stuff they call oil pull now.
John. I sent a reply but your box is full and you need to make some space. Please PM me again and I'll resend it.
You might be able to get some from a jacket maker. It is still used on good quality M422 repros and the like. I got some from one recently when I needed a new mouton collar for an old forties jacket I have.
Still if you're happy then as you say it's moot.
I've sometimes wondered why the sleeves are constructed like that. I only ever remember seeing it on older US leather utility jackets and their modern copies.
Plus the other jackets from the same makers.
