My size is 10D. A size 10 was ordered. Perfect fit.
The Thursday website states their boots are all a wide fit, like a D size. As stated, these are the only boots that would go on my foot, after trying no less than four brands. But I do have a high instep. The people at Thursday were responsive...
I make the claim to being president of the Cockpit USA Fanclub. Having nearly a half dozen of these in the stable, my experience has been positive, both with leather and nylon.
After the alterations to the shoulder on my Reissue A-2 were made, taking the span from 21 to 19 inches, the fit is...
Perhaps I'm guilty of gushing a bit over these. But you are correct in that they are decent for the price. Boots of this quality should sell for far more than $199.
No "hate" taken! I'm glad all of us have a good sense of humor.
Ha! Anneke was asked to do breast reduction surgery, and looks like it was a success. She did my wife in the WWII period quite well. I added the 6 gun, and gun belt. I thought she needed to be packing heat...
Makes you wonder how they can make a quality product, and be so competitive on pricing? I may order a size 36R in black. They are still on sale, although the extra 30% off ended, now just 25%.
If you are like me, you don't wear boots. Period. I was looking for a good pair of military style flight boots, but they were all cut so that my foot simply would not go in.
The Thursday boots are the first that I could actually get on my foot. No less than 4 other brands were tried, all without...
If I could do it over, a size 36R would have been ordered. As it was, two jackets were ordered, size 38 & 40. Sent the 40 back to them.
If you like the boots (and I do!), check out my review under Thursday Boot Company - A Full Review...
Ha! My only "service" is transporting people at a high rate of speed across oceans to Europe and the Far East.
Excelled being made in Illinois was made known when this A-2 was purchased from www.leathercoatsetc.com
They might also manufacture the Legendary Hellcat G-1, as Legendary said the...
Anyone considering an Excelled A-2, you might downsize by two sizes. Then the jacket should fit spot on, if you are a normal build.
Here are some photos, when the jacket was still in it's "virgin state".
This jacket will be worn at air show events (if it's not too hot), plus when flying the Mustang at high altitudes, above 10,000 feet. No...I won't be wearing this to the local supermarket!
This jacket was done to emulate the 8th Army Air Force, in the European Theatre, 1942-1945. But with just...
Measurements:
Shoulder = 19.5"
P to P = 22.5"
Sleeve = 26"
Back = 26"
These do run large. This A-2 is a size 38R. I probably could easily wear a size 36. I can normally wear a 40R, or maybe a 42. Size "M" shirts fit well, but a size "L" can be worn also. It depends on the cut of the cloth...
Here are a few photos of my Excelled A-2. I hand carried this jacket from Texas to The Netherlands (and back) so that artist Anneke Helleman could paint my wife onto the back side. She did a very nice job! And, a shout out to a few other artists...Sean Collins (P-51 patch), and Miroslav Sekulich...
