I have their Civil A-2, in a 42R. It’s ok, but should have ordered a 40. The G-1 was ordered in a 40 based on my A-2 fit, but after my conversation with Jenna, and getting the actual measurements, decided a 38R should work.
Let’s hope it does! I’m an “off the rack” 40R. In most jackets, anyway...
Yes, the G-1 can look very flattering, or it can make you ask...”What was he thinking?”
Like so many of the airline pilot uniform jackets I see being worn, they all fit worse than a sack of flour.
I did notice those photos were par for the course, with a rather loose / blousy fit on those guys...
Well, guess I have a ways to go to catch you! 4 A-2’s, 4 G-1’s with one more on the way. Mine are all current day repros, nice jackets for sure.
‘’But you can only wear one at a time’’...the wife. She really is a good sport about it.
I'm probably late to the party, as certainly you FL frequent flyers already knew this.
As the measurements were taken on all of my leather jackets, it was discovered that they really had little to do with quality of fit.
Example, my G&B A-2, which fits nearly perfectly on my shoulders, and has...
Looking at several bargain priced G-1's, and this jacket just popped up on the radar. The jacket is USA made, which is important to me (and my wife).
Has anyone here ever had jackets from this manufacturer? I actually do not know who makes it, just that is is offered by both Legendary USA, and...
The recommendations on sizing, from three different manufacturers, on three different jackets, were all one size too large.
G&B, Cockpit, and USWings.
Never had to return a coat for being too small, quite the opposite.
Every photo I have seen of B3’s in action was WWII B-17 crews, many times...
The Cockpit Mil Spec G-1 (42R) seems to have changed a bit. Had a 42R about two years ago, and sold it. Big mistake! So just bought another one, and it arrived today. The waist band measures a full two inches wider than the first one...17" versus 15".
All of the other measurements are within a...
Note that Excelled has changed the lining on the current production jackets. This is the one thing that is not to my taste. I just got off the phone with the customer service, and they confirmed that this is the new style lining material and pattern.
A photo of two Excelled A-2's, one from...
I have not noticed many General Aviation pilots wearing A-2's, or G-1's, so would not know about the fit. During my travels throughout numerous terminals, it has been my observation that airline pilots in general don't give a rats rear end about fit. Maybe they just don't know better. But...how...
A leather jacket is an option from my employer. Made in China, of course. And they fit like a sack of potatoes. A lot of our pilots wear them. But not one of them has a jacket that fits.
G&B also makes leather airline pilot jackets, for American, and previously for Northwest (now Delta). These...
Black by popular demand, just got this A-2 from Excelled. Great jacket, perfect fit in a 36R. A real bargain for those of you who are conscious about your bank account, and even for those who are unconscious.
Of all my jackets, this is the best fit.
Measurements:
P-P = 22"
Shoulder = 19.5"...
Is there something special, or unique about Talon? I own a very old (1966?) King Kole red and black plaid Sportsman's jacket. It has a Talon zipper, but a couple teeth are missing (like some people I know!).
The jacket is in mint condition, wondering about putting in a replacement zipper.
