Glad to have read that Fruno, I called JJ's when I ordered and asked the gal that I spoke with to try and see if they could send one of the "smaller" 1/4's as I've had a 7 1/4 Racine slide over my face and a 7 1/4 Grand Central fit just fine. Fingers crossed.
Dang. Now I'm really looking forward to getting home. I hope that the tracking is correct. Thanks!
"it has that kind of felt that you could poke with a finger and the dent stays ... ya know what I mean ... it dents and keeps those beautiful wrinkle lumps ... I love that"
I've been noticing...
I don't have a brown lid except for a short brimmed, telescope Champ which I rarely wear, so my "grail" was a dark brown Whippet, which I will likely never own. You had mentioned in another thread about the Stetsonian being the most "Whippet-like" of the current crop of Stetsons (I value your...
Sing out when you know. I'll be looking for tips and pointers (and taking a look at Moon's again) as I'm expecting one this evening when I get home from work.
Read about your "wait" and decided to pay a little extra to JJ Hatters, seeing as how they have the color I wanted in my size and in...
One of my recent acquisitions from Daan. A Boina Elósegui Exposición Año 1858, 30 cm. Top notch beret as are all of the berets I've gotten from SPB/Daan. I also purchased a Boina Exposición Super Lujo, 265mm that I like just as well. My first (quality) elastic headbanded berets. They get a bit...
Oh, my lifestyle isn't all that (but I like it). I live in a small to medium sized town, but it is in a very nice, pleasant part of the country. My friend is a farrier and I travel with him on some Sundays, just to get around and meet and talk with folks, and look at boats when the work is...
RJR, that hat is developing character. Bob, digg'in that feather.
Out with my bud this morning, he had a couple of horses whose hooves needed trimming. The SB CD, is fast becoming my favorite.
Hmm. That's news I can use. Thank you for that. Oddly, I had looked up your Stetsonian w/bash to check it out—just this morning. The color is right there. Great look'in lid.
One of Stetson's sites has the Premier Whippet in graphite and sage.

I really want one in mink or a dark brown. 7 1/4 anyone? I have their regular Whippet in caribou and like it just fine, but the Premier versions (aside from felt quality)...
As others have said—heck of a great day for fedoras! Everybody is looking famous.
Should have plopped a CD on my head, but instead went with the Grand Central. Soaked it. If I thought it was soft before, well, it's super soft now.
A "bucket hat." I've also heard them called golf hats. I wear mine either brim up or (mostly) brim down. Actually, you can do whatever you want with the brim. Nice, crisp, crown with an edge on top—the way I like 'em. Hard to find one like that these days.
The asking price isn't too bad. Looks...
