I didn't look up the Futur, but the Merkur 23C appears to be a double-edge razor. My only DE experience has been with vintage Gillettes, so I can't really guide you.

I buy a manual for everything. I even bought one ($40!!) for my $750 Rambler. I'm not that good a mechanic even when I have one, let alone trying to fly by the seat of my pants.
Ok gang, I need a recommendation. My local drugstores seem to be phasing out single-edge (SE) blades. First Rite Aid discontinued carrying my favorite Treet blades in favor of Rite Aid brand, which were OK. Now the Rite Aid brand has disappeared too, and Walgreens is no longer stocking the...
Alas, the bright-metal gravel shields attach slightly differently than the rubber, so that will probably wait until spring. I may actually retain a body shop to do the installation to make sure it's done right.
Bad news on the car - I've been having issues with the rear brakes grabbing too...
I discovered Mr. Gasket baby moons will fit. Pics soon.
I also picked up a pair of '47-'49 bright metal gravel shields to replace the dowdy rubber ones on there now.

Also very stupid, since the house was really too large to...
You know, I'd heart of Jackie Coogan and the Coogan Act, but never realized he went on to serve with the Chindit Commandos and play Uncle Fester on The Addams Family. Coolest thing I've learned all day.
A couple of beautiful projects you've got there, Hbogie. And I heartily approve of the direction you're headed with the '40. We're thinking triple carbs with progressive linkage, high-compression head, and split manifold on the Studebaker - similar plan. What's the plan for the '55?
I don't...
Meet our 1950 Studebaker Champion Regal Deluxe. As predicted, it is slower than molasses, but I have never seen my family so excited about a car. And driving it is very different from anything else I've ever piloted. I'm very pleased with the trade.
I feel your pain. The last time the Rambler spit the bell crank, it was in the parking lot of the dry cleaners and I was wearing slacks, sport coat, bow tie, and fedora. By the time I was done, I had more business for them.
It's still better than driving the HHR I was supposed to be borrowing...
