Hometown Jersey: custom US made repro motorcycle jerseys

My club is getting its jerseys through Hometown and you see lots of them on the beach at The Race of Gentlemen. Good stuff and inexpensive for something 100% Made in the U.S.A. Here is our club president's review of his if you're interested.

    Vintage style t-shirts

Rather than start a new thread, this one appears to be a decent one to resurrect. Can anyone share examples of pre-war or very early post-war graphic / logo t-shirts? Thanks!

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

Does anyone know where I might find a pair of socks like this?

    Pure-vintage lady in Scunthorpe

I can't read comment sections anymore. They were destroying my faith in humanity.

Penny Loafers take to the skies....

I keep a pair of Weejuns in the office to essentially use as a pair of slippers. I love 'em for it, but I don't know that I'd really like them on the street. They don't feel all that substantial. I suspect stepping down hard on a piece of gravel might be quite agonizing.

    Pure-vintage lady in Scunthorpe

A friend just shared this article with me about an interesting lady who is living a pure-vintage lifestyle in the UK. It's a shame they headlined it in the context of "finding her man" but the photos are pretty neat. She seems like someone I'd like to know.

    Typewriters

Wow, my grandmother used to send me letters typed in exactly that typeface. I haven't thought of that in a long time. Thanks for the memory.

If you went back to the Golden Era, what would you notice first?

I can only hope at least one would cite this to you: And say it was the best possible outcome for that area.

Military Surplus fashion in the 1940s and 1950s

That is a really fascinating bit of history for a culture sorely lacking in physical records. Mind if I share that with some folks?

Military Surplus fashion in the 1940s and 1950s

Fascinating ad! Can you give any context? "Hot Rod" was a term only just tickling the edge of respectability in 1948.

Military Surplus fashion in the 1940s and 1950s

Similar thing happened to the B3 my grandfather is wearing in this picture: It and the matching A3 trousers (I've posted about them elsewhere) hung around until the 1970s or '80s. I think my dad used to occasionally wear the B3 as a cold-weather jacket. Eventually the leather split down the...

What do you do for Living?

What?? I love seeing you guys (and gals) arrive with my goodies! The only time it's been bad is that one time nobody arrived with any goodies, but the tracking information showed it as "delivered at side door of house." Since my house doesn't have a side door...

    Show us your vintage home!

DO NOT FIGHT THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE HOUSE should be the first three rules for any person claiming to be an interior decorator or professional re-modeler. If I ever get my hands on the contractors that ripped out the back staircase in every single Queen Anne I looked at here in Bay City, I...

What do you use to shave?

I would definitely get more once this cake is gone.

What do you use to shave?

My wife surprised me with this set the day after Christmas. I'm usually leery of these pre-packaged sets, but for the price it was worth it just for the brush-and-razor stand. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The lather from the soap is nice and slick and I got a great shave - very...

    1942 in your driveway

The four-door Wranglers look to me like they're begging to be painted up like a '46-'62 Willys station wagon.

    Let's Kill Hitler

The "Powder Keg" Theory of WWI was what they were still teaching when I was in high school and college. Arms races, competing industrial sectors, and the anti-imperial unrest made war all but inevitable. The assassination Archduke Franz Ferdinand was merely the spark which touched the whole...

    Let's Kill Hitler

This is a really fascinating topic, and I’m mainly posting to follow the discussion. I like Lizzie’s very thoughtful treatment. My only question, though, is how does Joseph McCarthy lie about his record in a war that never occurs? Or is it that he claims to have fought the Japanese in the...
